The National Youth Service (NYS) has announced the recruitment of technical instructors and lecturers scheduled to take place in September 2025.

The National Youth Service (NYS) has announced it is recruiting 181 technical Instructors and lecturers.

In an advert on Tuesday, August 19, NYS invited interested and qualified Kenyans to apply for the positions.

NYS noted that it has 130 vacancies for technical instructors across 29 different fields in the service.

According to NYS, applicants for technical instructor positions must hold a diploma in the relevant field they wish to teach.

The applicants should also have a certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution and fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Successful applicants will earn a salary ranging between Ksh28,620 and Ksh37,100. They are also entitled to a SHA medical cover, house allowance, commuter allowance, and leave allowance.

NYS also advertised 13 lecturer II positions across 8 different fields, including Bachelor of Arts (Languages-French), Bachelor of Arts (Secretarial Studies), Bachelor of Business Management, and Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship

Others are Bachelor of Arts in Hospitality management, Bachelor of Commerce (Human Resource management), Bachelor of Science (Fashion and textile design), and Bachelor of Supply Chain Management.

Applicants for the lecturer II positions are required to have a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field they wish to teach.

Successful applicants will receive a monthly salary ranging from Ksh34,420 to Ksh46,120.

They will also be entitled to a SHA medical cover, house allowance, commuter allowance, and leave allowance.

Further NYS 38 Lecturer 1 positions across 22 different fields.

The fields include; Bachelor of Science in Economics and Statistics Information Science, Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Bachelor of Agricultural Economics, Bachelor of Science (Animal Health Science), Bachelor of Science (Construction Plant), Bachelors of Science/Engineering or Education (Aeronautical Engineering), Bachelors of Science (Architecture), Bachelors of Science (Automotive Engineering) and Bachelors of Science or Education (Civil & Structural Engineering).

Others are Bachelors of Science (Electrical & Electronics), Bachelors of Science (Mechanical Engineering), Bachelors of Science (Quantity Survey), Bachelor of Technology in building construction, Bachelor of Catering and hotel management, Bachelor of Science in Food Nutrition and Dietetics, Bachelor of Commerce Marketing, Bachelor of Science/Technology in Industrial Plant Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Horticulture and Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering.

Successful applicants will earn a salary of between Ksh41,420 and Ksh57,230.

Applicants who are interested in the positions are required to complete the Application for Employment Form-PSC.2 (Revised 2016) and submit in a sealed envelope marked with the title of the position applied for.

The application should be accompanied by a detailed curriculum vitae, certified copies of academic certificates, testimonials, and a copy of the national identity card or passport.
