The police operation uncovered a stash of stolen gadgets including 321 mobile phones, seven laptops, an LG music system, and two speakers.

Police officers from Embakasi Police Station have arrested two suspects after successfully tracking a stolen iPhone 15 phone to an apartment in Mihang’o, Kayole.

In a statement on Thursday, August 28, the National Police Service (NPS) said the operation uncovered a stash of stolen gadgets after a raid at Breeze Point Apartments on Turin Court.

Other than the iPhone, 321 assorted mobile phones, seven laptops, various mobile phone covers, laptop chargers, an LG music system, and two speakers were also recovered.

"Police officers from Embakasi Police Station, acting on actionable intelligence, successfully tracked a stolen iPhone 15 to the Mihang’o area of Kayole Sub-County.

"The operation led officers to Breeze Point Apartments on Turin Court, where two suspects were arrested. A subsequent search of the property led to the recovery of the following exhibits: the stolen iPhone 15, 321 assorted mobile phones, seven laptops, various mobile phone covers, laptop chargers, an LG music system, and two speakers," the statement read.

The NPS confirmed that the two suspects are being held in custody as investigations into the matter continue.

"The suspects have been arrested and are in custody awaiting processing and arraignment. All recovered exhibits have been secured at the same facility," the statement added.

The NPS praised the public for its cooperation in providing information that guided the operation and credited teamwork between officers from different stations for the successful outcome.

"The National Police Service commends members of the public for providing the crucial information, as well as the swift coordination between the Kayole and Embakasi offcers, which led to the successful arrests and recovery," the statement concluded.

This comes weeks after police in Kisumu arrested a male suspect in connection with a string of thefts after a raid led to the recovery of multiple electronic items believed to be stolen.

In a statement on Wednesday, August 6, the NPS said the arrest was made following credible intelligence.

"Earlier today, 6 August 2025, officers from Kombewa Police Station, acting on credible intelligence, arrested a male suspect in Kolenyo Village, Seme Sub-County, Kisumu County," the statement read.

During the operation, officers conducted a search at the suspect’s residence and uncovered a cache of electronics that included over 20 mobile phones.

"A search conducted at the suspect’s residence led to the recovery of 24 assorted mobile phones, two laptops—a black Lenovo and a grey HP—and an Orimo power bank, all suspected to have been stolen," the statement added.
