Kenya Power has announced planned power outages across 11 counties on Tuesday, September 2, as part of maintenance works.
In a statement on Monday, September 1, the company said the outages are expected to affect the areas, mostly between 8.00 A.M. and 5.00 P.M.
In Nairobi County, Nairobi West residents will experience power interruptions from 9.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M.
The affected areas include Muhoho Avenue (part), Mama Ngina Children’s Home, Muhuti Avenue, part of Ole Shapara Road, Uchumi Road, Heshima Estate, Aljazeera and Five Star Estate.
Ruby Estate, Halai Estate, Jua Kali Road, Olive Road, St Catherine of Alexandria Catholic, Momon Estate, Midland Court Estate, Fedha Apartments, Parkview Apartments, and adjacent customers will also be affected.

In Machakos County, the whole of Ilpolosat Ex Konza will be affected from 9.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M., covering part of Konza City, Konza Boreholes, Prof. Mbithi’s Residence, Konza ABC Secondary, Konza Railway, Ilpolosat, and neighboring areas.
Busia County will see outages from 9.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M., impacting Busia Town, Malaba, Busia Weigh Bridge, Police Headquarters, Busia Law Court, Alupe, Amerikwai, Atongos, Anorom, Mukura, Malaba Town, Ochude, Bugengi, and adjacent customers.
In Kakamega County, power will be interrupted in Shikhoti from 9.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M., affecting Shikhoti Market, Shikhoti Mission, Tumaini, Ebutenje, Esumeiya, and surrounding areas.
Nyeri County residents in Kiamabara Market and Mukangu Market will experience outages from 8.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M.
Areas affected include Kirigu C/Factory, Gatina Market, Gakuyu Secondary School, Mukangu Dispensary, Mukangu Market, Mukangu C/Factory, Gatina Village, Konyu Two Plots, Matira-ini Primary School, Matira-ini Village, Kiamabara Market, Mungetho Market, Karema-ini Booster, Ihiga Village, Kieni C/Factory, Kieni Village, Kagumo-ini C/Factory, Mt. Carmel Secondary School and Gathugu C/Factory.
Other affected areas include Gathugu Market, Gaiti Village, Ruharu Village, Munengere Village, Gaturiri C/Factory, Gaturiri Market, Kahara DEB, Gachiara Village, Kiamabara Dispensary, Safaricom Boosters, Airtel Boosters, and nearby customers.
Additionally, Kimondo and Kiuu areas including Kimondo, Kihuti, Kiangondu, Thangathi, Kiuu, and Ujamaa will also be affected during the same hours.
In Murang’a County, power will be interrupted on part of Kenol Ex Makuyu Feeder – Kimorori Spur from 9.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M.
The affected areas include Kenol DC’s Office, Githanji Estate, Kimorori Market, Kamigwa, and adjacent customers.
Kirinyaga County residents in Siberia, Karaba, Thome, Ciagini, Gategi, Marurumo, and Wango Riakanau will experience outages from 9.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M.
Areas affected include Siberia, Kiandegwa, Nganga, Thome, Karaba, Ciagini, Gatwiri, Kwivota, Maviani, Gategi, Kaseve, Kathiani, Bonzuki, Kakindu, Kakawa, Gikuru, Marurumo, Ndindiruku, Kiumbu, Wango, Nthingiini, Maalikiini, Musingiini, Kilia, Riakanau Vigs/Mrts. Farm Works, Karaba and Wango Missions, Karaba, Gategi, Nganga Secondary School, and surrounding areas.
In Meru County, Embori, Kibirichia, and Kisima areas will be affected from 8.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M.
Power interruptions will impact Muruguma Market, Naari Market, Naari Girls, Gitimene Market, Gathuine Market, Mchogomone, Kirigo, Runkuru Market, Kigure Market, Gatobora, Nyayo Tea Zone, and Old Minas.
Bible Baptist, Office of the Women Representative, Nkuriga Booster, Murinya, BBM Academy, Embori, Kisima Farm, Uhuru Farm, Wangu Farm, Blooming Dale, PJ Dave Farm, School of Adventure, Kisima Girls, Kisima Hotel, Uhuru Flowers, and neighboring customers will also be affected.
Kiambu County areas affected from 9.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M. include Kenchick, Kilimambogo, and Ndula Market. Specific locations include Magogoni, Ngoliba, Makutano, Kenchic, Rubiru, Helena Quarry, Kilimambogo Teachers, Matathia and Kiboko Farm.
Others are Chui Rapid, Ndonyo, Sabuk, Makawa Dam, parts of Delmonte, Baragu Holdings, Kahonoki, Wapa School, Ndula Market, Lembeni, Rubiru Secondary, and adjacent customers.
In Kitui County, Ngalange, Usueni, and Wikithuki Irrigation Scheme areas will be without power from 9.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M.
This affects Ngalange, Musavani, Kyenini, Wikithuki Irrigation, Wikithuki Border Police Kaningo, Usueni, Wikithuki, Kyamalutu, and neighboring areas.
Finally, Kilifi County residents in the Ngala area will experience outages from 9.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M.
Affected areas include Ngala Phase 1, Ngala Phase 2, Ngala Phase 3, Ngala Phase 4, Ngala Phase 5, Sabasaba, Muyeye Dispensary, Malindi Bus Park, Maweni ACK, and adjacent customers.
