The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has predicted that rainfall will continue across 5 regions this week.
In a statement on Tuesday, September 2, the Met Department said the rains will be experienced in the Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, and Western regions.
The central highlands and coastal regions will also experience rainfall throughout the week.
“Rainfall is expected to continue in the Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, Western and Central Highlands, and parts of the Coastal Region,” read the weather forecast in part.
The weatherman also announced that parts of the Central Highlands, Western Kenya, the South-Eastern Lowlands, and the Rift Valley will experience cold and cloudy conditions.

Meanwhile, high daytime temperatures of above 30°C are expected in the North-western and North-eastern Kenya regions.
On the other hand, parts of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, the Central Rift Valley, and areas surrounding Mt. Kilimanjaro will experience chilly nights with minimum temperatures of below 10°C.
The weatherman further warned that strong southerly to south-easterly winds exceeding 25 knots are expected over the coastal region this week.
The strong winds will also be experienced in the South-eastern Lowlands, North-eastern, and North-western Kenya regions.
“Strong winds (speeds exceeding 25 knots / 12.86 m/s) will affect the Coast and Kenya’s territorial waters, South-Eastern Lowlands, North-Eastern, and North-Western Kenya,” the Met Department stated.
In the previous weather forecast on Monday, August 25, the Met Department predicted that the rains would be experienced in the Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, Western, and North-western Kenya.
The weatherman, however, said the intensity of the rainfall would ease towards the end of the week.
“Rainfall continues across the Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, Western, and North-western Kenya. However, intensity and coverage are gradually easing,” read the weather forecast.
