Police Officers have arrested several suspects believed to be part of an armed criminal gang that has been terrorizing residents of Kajiado County.
In a statement on Friday, September 5, the National Police Service (NPS) said officers intercepted a vehicle carrying the suspects on a surveillance mission in Kagio, Kirinyaga County, on September 4, 2025.
The officers searched the vehicles and recovered a walkie-talkie, assorted SIM cards, mobile phones, spotlights, surgical gloves, and other items used for criminal activities.
“The operation, which began on 4 September 2025 in Kagio, Kirinyaga County, led to the interception of a vehicle carrying suspects on a surveillance mission,” read part of the NPS statement.
The police extended the operation to Kiserian town in Kajiado County, where another suspect was arrested at a residence.

During the raid, the officers recovered an AK-47 rifle loaded with ammunition, a walkie-talkie, several mobile phones, a tear gas canister, and various house-breaking implements.
“The scene was processed by crime scene investigators and documented by senior officers from Rongai and Kiserian,” NPS stated.
The suspected gang members are in custody, awaiting further police action as investigations continue.
Further, NPS commended the swift action of its officers and reassured members of the public of its resolve to dismantle organized criminal networks operating in the country.
This comes a day after Police in Malindi arrested eight suspects believed to be members of 'Team Nati Dread', a notorious gang that has been instilling fear among residents in the coastal town.
“The operation began with the arrest of one suspect who, upon interrogation, led officers to the Nat and Kwa Famau areas of Maweni.
“This resulted in the arrest of seven additional suspects believed to be members of a notorious gang known as 'Team Nati Dread'. The gang has been terrorizing residents in the area,” NPS stated.
During the operation, officers recovered three pangas, two mobile phones, and assorted jewellery suspected of being stolen property.
The suspects are currently in custody pending arraignment in court, where they are set to face robbery-related charges.
