The outages will affect parts of Kajiado, West Pokot, Siaya, Bungoma, Nyeri, Murang’a, and Kiambu counties.

Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions in several parts of the country on Wednesday, September 10, to facilitate routine maintenance works. 

In a statement on Tuesday, September 9, the company said the outages will affect parts of Kajiado, West Pokot, Siaya, Bungoma, Nyeri, Murang’a, and Kiambu counties, with the blackout period running from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

In Kajiado County, the affected area will be Kitengela. 

Affected areas include Kitengela Medical, St. Lilliana, Deliverance Road, Baraka Road, Balozi Road, Tropicana, Mama Muiruri and Chuna.

Others are Upper Valley, Safaricom 1 and 2, Muigai, Police Sacco, Ola, East Africa University, Kimalat, and surrounding areas.

In West Pokot County, the blackout will affect Sigor and Lomut, including Sigor, Ipet, Tamkal, Chesta, Chesta Teachers College, Lomut, and nearby areas.

In Siaya County, Ng’iya will be hit, affecting Karapul Primary, Barding High School, Rambo School, Pap Oriang Keromo, and adjacent customers.

In Bungoma County, the outage will affect Butali and surrounding areas, including Hongera Millers, Pan Africa Chemical, Kenol Kobil, Power Gas, Butali Sugar, Tachoni Jaggary and Teressia Primary.

Chebwai Adventist, Kivai Secondary School, Matete Market, Chabadia Factory, Chimoi Market, Lwandeti, Kaburengu, and neighboring customers will also be affected.

In Nyeri County, Mikundi and Maganjo will be impacted.

Affected areas are Kaiganaine Village, Mikundi Dispensary, Mikundi Market, Chieni, Maganjo Village, Maganjo Secondary School, Gatunai Village, Mikundi Village, Safaricom Boosters, Airtel Boosters, and surrounding areas.

Murang’a County will also experience interruptions in Machegecha, Kariua, and Kariti. 

Areas affected include Machegecha Primary, Machegecha Secondary, Kariti Market, Kariti Secondary, Kariua Mutitu, Kirirwa, Nguku, and nearby areas.

In Kiambu County, the blackout will affect parts of Rironi and KBC. 

Rironi, Kiroe, Ngecha, Gitangu, Mahinga, KBC, Tilisi, Nduma, Mirithu, Swatch, Luquman Petrol Station, and adjacent areas will experience power interruptions.
