Senate Leader of Minority Senator James Orengo has called out K24 TV over a story on the alleged ouster of Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr as Senate Minority Whip.
According to the K24 story, Senator Mutula Kilonzo JR is being targeted for ejection as ODM cracks whip on breakaway NASA coalition members.
Reacting to the story, Orengo termed it fallacious noting that the minority side trusts in the leadership of Senator Mutula Jnr.
“This is a fallacious and malicious story. The Minority in the senate have full confidence in the leadership of Senator @SenMutula as Chief Minority Whip,” Orengo tweeted.

Senator Mutula is a member of the Wiper Party under the leadership of Kalonzo Musyoka.
Wiper Party recently partnered with ANC, Ford-Kenya, and KANU to form One Kenya Alliance which has reportedly rattled ODM.
It is worth noting that apart from Kanu, the other parties in the alliance were ODM’s partners in the National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition.
Meanwhile, ODM recently led other minority parties in ejecting Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala as Deputy Leader of minority in the Senate.
Senator Malala was ejected from the post over claims of being disrespectful to the coalition that sponsored him and was replaced by Kilifi Senator Stewart Madzayo.
Trouble began for Senator Malala when he openly opposed the government’s proposal in regards to the division of revenue formula.
He was among a group of Senators dubbed ‘Team Kenya’ that vehemently rejected the formula, and was at one point arrested alongside two other senators when the Senate was to take a crucial vote on the Division of Revenue Bill.
However, it is believed that his ouster was fueled by the role he played in the recently concluded Matungu by-election that saw ANC party defeat ODM.
Malala was ANC’s point man in the ground and rallied residents to support Peter Nabulindo despite ODM putting up a spirited fight.
