Reports have emerged of an altercation between members of the large Obama family after a section of Mama Sarah’s kin was barred from the burial.
According to reports, Mama Sarah's family was denied access to the home in the event that was highly guarded.
They were asked to produce their invitation and this is when the commotion began. Some of her grandchildren lamented after being denied access to the home which they would freely visit.
The dejected family members protested outside the home while claiming there was discrimination in the manner in which the family inside was allowing guests in.

Leaders present at the burial include Cabinet Secretary for Defense Rachael Omamo, Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga and his Kisumu counterpart Prof Anyang Nyong'o.
Speaking at the funeral, Governor Rasanga directed the county government tourism department to gazette Mama Sarah’s home as a tourist attraction.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a donation to the Obama family as their matriarch the late Mama Sarah Obama was laid to rest today in Kogello, Siaya County.
Reports indicate that the President has sent the family a donation of one million shillings to help with burial arrangements.
Mama Sarah has been buried in accordance with Muslim traditions. Her burial ceremony was restricted to close family and friends with locals being locked out.
