Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions across nine counties on Wednesday, October 1.
In a statement on Tuesday, September 30, the utility company stated that the planned outages are part of routine maintenance works.
According to the schedule, several areas in Nairobi North will be without electricity from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Affected locations include Parklands, Kipkabus Road, parts of Ngara, Museum, Westlands Road, parts of Kipande Road, KU School of Law, Chemilil Road, Musembi Road, Qwetu residences, and surrounding areas.
In Kericho County, the outage will affect Kapsorok Concrete, Kapsorok Market, Kamalel Market, and adjacent customers from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Residents of Kiambu County in Kibichoi and Marige areas will also experience power cuts within the same period.
The maintenance will affect Marige, Komothai Boys, Komothai Girls, Kigumo, Gathugu, Gitombo, Gathiruini, Githioro, Mount Moriah, Kibichoi shops, and nearby customers.
In Murang’a County, the power interruption will hit Ndithini, Makuyu, and Tana areas, including Ndithini Children’s Home, Kaguku, Busyani, Ndithini Mission Hospital, Kiatineni Nduvuini Primary School, Tana Ranch Primary School, Tana Ranch, and surrounding communities.
Customers in Nyeri County around Sagana State Lodge will also be affected.
The outage will cover Sagana State Lodge, Kiganjo Fisheries, Karandi Market, Iruri Market, Iruri Dispensary, Iruri Village, Iganjo Village, Mutaga Village, and nearby Safaricom and Airtel boosters.
The power cut is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In Meru County, the outage will run slightly longer, beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 5:00 p.m.
The affected areas include Miathene, Kiandiu, Gimpine Primary School, Thaari, part of Kianjai, Uuru, Kirukire, Kathiiri, Karimba Primary School, Miathene KMTC, Kanjalu Girls, Ithamare, Mwithu Coffee Factory, Giunku, Kitheo, and surrounding areas.
In the coastal region, Kwale County will see power cuts in Lungalunga, Kilimangodo, Mwereni, Kidomaya, Horohoro, Mwananyamala, Mwangulu, Godo, and adjacent areas from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In Kisumu County, residents of Masawa Village will be affected between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Other areas to be impacted include Obumba Secondary School, Achuodho School, Kasarani Market, Land Matobe Village, Masawa Primary School, and nearby customers.
In Vihiga County, the outage will affect Ilungu Market, Bunyore Teachers Training College, Ematsuli, Esirulo Water Pump, Isanda, and adjacent areas between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
