Kenya Power has announced that several parts of the country, including Nairobi, will experience planned power interruptions on Tuesday.

Kenya Power has announced that several parts of the country will experience planned power interruptions on Tuesday, October 7.

In a statement on Monday, October 6, the company said the scheduled outages are part of routine maintenance work.  

In Nairobi, power will be cut from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Kariobangi South, covering Pioneer Phase 1 & 2, Kariobangi South, Buruburu Phase 5, KCC Village, part of Kangundo Road, and adjacent areas. 

Another outage will affect parts of Kilimani and Jamhuri Estate within the same time frame, including Cotton Road, Part of Dennis Pritt Road, Kayawe Road, Galana Road, Argwings Kodhek Road, Ring Road Kilimani, Part of Lenana Road, Chania Avenue, Wood Avenue, Part of Kirichwa Road, Adlife Plaza and Eastlands Hotel.

French School, Yaya Centre, Prestige Plaza, Mugo Kibiru, Moi Girls Kibera, Toi Market, Woodley Estate, Jamhuri Estate, Togo Flats, Part of Suna Road, Part of Ngong Road, Toi Primary, Ola Petrol Station, Naivas, Joseph Kangethe Road, Part of Kindaruma Road, and adjacent customers will also be affected.

In Uasin Gishu County, areas in Simat including Mutwot, Kisor Dispensary, Tuiyo Kamotong and nearby customers will face outages from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

In Vihiga County, power will be off during the same hours in Musiri, part of Gamogi Market, Itiengere, Jebrock Market, Kini Market, Kapkerer Market, Kaseta, Malinda, Likindu Health Center, Saride, Ivola, Kapsaoi, Police, Mutiva and adjacent customers.

Parts of Kakamega County, specifically Burkas and Lunza, will also experience interruptions affecting Burkas, Lunza, Mungune, Lukumbo, Metamwele, Shibanga and surrounding areas.

In Nyeri County, several regions will be impacted, including Mahiga and Hithe; Thuti Factory, Birthia Secondary, Kagonye Market, Kagere Market, Kenyatta Secondary, Mahiga Girls, Munyange Market, Munyange Secondary, Njigari Market, Dr. Kamundia Secondary, Ihithe Market, Kindara, Hubuini Market and nearby customers.

Areas in Karundas and Githungo, including Karundas Shopping Centre, Githungo Primary School, Mbiriri Market, Mapema Shopping Centre and nearby customers will also be affected.

Other affected areas are Kanyagia and Endarasha, specifically Esacco, Sangare, Honi, Rhino Watch, Kanyagia, Uasonyiro, Mairo, Endarasha Market, Pura, Endarasha Secondary School, Watuka Market, Wandare Market, Kabati, Mwiyogo, Kanyagia, Embaringo Market, Watuka Village, Kimunyuru Market and nearby customers.

In MURANG’A COUNTY, the outage will affect Kamahuha, Thaara and Igikiro areas, covering Thaara Secondary, Kamahuha Market, Igikiro Village, ACK Kamahuha Parish and adjacent customers.

In Embu County, the affected areas include Gitaru, Kindaruma and Kiambere, covering Kiambere Kengen Camps, Water Meyer, Kiambere Complex, Katothya, Kavui, Ngiiri, Gwakarigu, Mutuobare Market, Cieria and adjacent customers.

In Kirinyaga County, outages will hit Spenza Millers, Kimicha and Baricho areas, including Spenza Millers, Kimicha Market, Kiaga Market, Njeru Githae, Thumaita West Village, Baricho Market, Kianda Market, Kiambwe Coffee Factory, Thiguku Market, Getuya Village and nearby customers.

In Tharaka Nithi County, power will be interrupted from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Kibugua and Kiracha areas, affecting Kibugua Market, Magumoni, Njuri High, Kericho, Gitogoto, Kiamuriuki, Kiracha Market, and nearby customers.

In Laikipia County, residents in Jua Kali, Naibor, and Mayan will experience blackouts between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. affecting Jua Kali Center, Naibor Center, Mayan Hotel, Rititi, Edana, Oxy Energy, Jesel Farm, and adjacent customers.
