KeNHA has announced that the Njoro–Mau Summit road will be closed for 21 days.

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a temporary traffic disruption along the Njoro–Mau Summit (B129) Road.

In a notice on Saturday, October 11, KeNHA said the road will be closed for 21 days from Thursday, October 16, to Thursday, November 6, 2025.

The authority noted that the temporary closure of the road will facilitate pavement reconstruction works.

“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify the public that the Njoro–Mau Summit (B129) Road will be closed from Thursday, 16th October to Thursday, 6th November 2025, to allow for pavement reconstruction works.

“The closure point is about 1 km past the Keringet Factory and 2 km before Molo Town,” read the notice in part.

KeNHA also said a diversion has been identified for use during this period. However, it will not accommodate lorries and long trucks due to a sharp restricted curve.

The authority advised motorists to use alternative routes. Motorists heading to Molo and Mau Summit are advised to use the Nakuru–Mau Summit (A8) Road via Kibunja Junction.

Further, the authority appealed to all road users to follow the proposed traffic management plan for their safety.

This comes a day after the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) temporarily closed Jamuhuri Road for two days.

In a notice on Thursday, October 9, KURA Director General Silas Kinoti said the road will be closed from Friday, October 10, at 11 PM to Sunday, October 12, 2025.

Kinoti explained that the closure of the road will facilitate the construction of drainage and sewer infrastructure, which are part of the Talanta Sports City Project at Jamhuri Sports Grounds.

“The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) wishes to notify the general public of the closure of Jamhuri Road from 8:00 PM on Friday, 10th October 2025, to 11:00 PM on Sunday, 12th October 2025.

“This is due to the construction of essential drainage and sewer infrastructure as part of the Talanta Sports City Project at Jamhuri Sports Grounds,” read the notice in part.

Kinoti advised motorists to use Sanctuary Road and Kibera Drive to reach their destinations.
