The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company has notified clients of a water disconnection exercise targeting accounts with outstanding bills that will begin on Wednesday, October 15.
In a statement released on Tuesday, October 14, the water utility company announced that it would conduct a comprehensive enforcement action across all consumer categories to recover overdue payments.
The disconnection exercise will affect all categories of consumers, including ministries, departments and agencies, county governments, water service providers, commercial entities, and domestic consumers.
NCWSC noted that many accounts remain in default despite repeated notices and reminders, prompting the company to take decisive enforcement measures to recover arrears from all defaulting consumers.
The company has issued strict guidelines for consumers during the disconnection exercise. To avoid disconnection, consumers are advised to settle all outstanding bills immediately. Reconnections will only be processed upon full settlement of outstanding balances.
