Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions across several parts of the country on Friday, October 17.
In a statement on Thursday, October 16, the company said the scheduled maintenance will affect customers in Nairobi, Kajiado, Tharaka Nithi, Taita Taveta, Samburu, Nandi, and Migori counties.
In Nairobi County, power will be interrupted between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in two main areas.
The first area covers Catherine Dereva Road and Pipeline, affecting Scion Hospital, V Club, Joharis, Mukuru Health Centre, part of Villafranca Estate, Kings Millennium, St. Bhakita and Takbir Distributors.
Mukuru Educational Centre, Penda Medical Center Embakasi, Bamba 70, Unique Estate, Seyani Brothers, Kenya Builders, Honey Suckle, King of Judah Ministries, Swaminarayan School, and adjacent customers will also be affected.

The second area in Nairobi is Part of Lake View Estate, where residents and adjacent customers will also be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In Kajiado County, the outage will affect Lower Matasia and Ngong areas between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The maintenance will impact Kamura, Oloika, Nkoroi, Matasia Junction, Memusi, Kamura, Olosurutia, Barabara Mpya, Kahara, Cornerbaridi, and adjacent customers.
Tharaka Nithi County will also be affected, with planned interruptions scheduled in Kimbumbu, Chuka, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The affected areas include Chuka KCB, Chuka Girls, Ushirika, Chuka Court, Nchamba Cyber, Kimbumbu, Ntuntuni, California, and adjacent customers.
In Taita Taveta County, power will be interrupted in Mwandango and Mnyuchi between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., affecting the whole of Mwandango, Mnyuchi, and adjacent areas.
Residents of Samburu County will also experience outages in Maralal and surrounding areas from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The planned maintenance will affect Kinamba, Muarak, Suguta, Marmar, Churo, Naibor, the whole of Samburu-Maralal, Poror, Kisima, and adjacent customers.
In Nandi County, the power outage will hit Ndalat and its surroundings between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Areas to be affected include Ndalat, Chepkemel, Malando, and adjacent customers.
Migori County will experience interruptions in Kehancha and Masaba areas from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The maintenance will affect parts of Kehancha, Taranganya, Kobinto, Komasicha, Senta, Nyamotiro, Nyaroa, Masangwa, Nyabikokori, Ntimaru, Wangirabose, Igena Itambe, Angata, Gwikonge, and adjacent customers.
