Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions across five counties on Wednesday, October 22, to facilitate maintenance works.

In a notice on Tuesday, October 21, the company said the affected counties include Nairobi, Bomet, Kisumu, Kisii, and Kiambu.

In Nairobi County, parts of Joska will be without electricity from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 

The areas to be affected include Gatuoro, Eewage Plant, Watoto Wema, Kwa Mama Christine, Sewage Shopping Centre, Githunguri, parts of Utawala, Corner C, Corner D, Block 10, Manyatta, Myland, Eka Tano, and surrounding customers.

Additionally, sections of Parklands will experience interruptions between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Parklands Avenues, Doctors Plaza, Batubatu Estate, Masari Road, Sivachi Road, Dovu Lane, Mwani Road, Ring Road, part of Mpaka Road, and nearby areas.

In Bomet County, supply will be interrupted in Olpisiai and GK Prisons Kilgoris between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., affecting GK Prisons Kilgoris, Olpisai, Lolgorian, Mararianda, Kichwa Tembo, Angama, Partakilat, Mara Engai, Mara West, Angata Barrikoi, Gwitembe, Oldonyorok, Masurura, and adjacent customers.

In Kisumu County, parts of Kibos will also face outages during the same hours, impacting Kibos Prison, Tamuwa, Ibo, White Coal, Sugar Research, Kajulu Water, and surrounding customers.

Kisii County will see the most extensive maintenance work, with two clusters scheduled for disconnection from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The first includes Gotchaki Primary and Secondary, Nyabigena Boys and Girls Secondary, Matangamano Primary, Marongo Polytechnic, Orencho Secondary, Manywanda Primary, Nyakembene High and Boige Health Center.

Tabaka Market, Kiorina Primary, Kiamabundu, Ikoba Market, Nyaburumbasi, Riosiri Market and Secondary, Nduru Hospital, Nduru Secondary, Esaka Market, and neighboring areas will also be affected.

The second cluster will cover Nyangusu, Mara Tea, Kiango, Shankoe, London, Egembe, Magena, Emesa, Mogonga, and nearby customers.

In Kiambu County, power will be off from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in parts of Rironi and Ngecha, including KBC Tilisi, Mahinga, Swach, and surrounding areas.
