Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions in seven counties on Thursday, October 23, as part of maintenance works. 

The scheduled outages will affect parts of Nairobi, Bomet, Busia, Migori, Kiambu, Mombasa, and Kilifi counties, with most areas expected to experience power cuts between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

In Nairobi County, the power cut will affect several areas including Bendera Lane and its adjacent customers from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Parts of Eastleigh will also be without power during the same period, including Hombe Road, Nairobi National Polytechnic, Don Bosco High School, Kipande Athumani Street, Mweni Road, Racecourse Primary, Barakaat Hospital, Muratina Street, Jam Street, and Ushirika Estate. 

In Karen, the outage will affect Rhino Park Road, part of Kerarapon Road, Mahugu Park, Air Travel, NEGST, Karinde Water Pump, Gitiba Primary School, Resurrection Gardens, Homescope, Karen Hilltop Garden, Nine Sisters, Karinde Shell Petrol Station, and adjacent customers. 

In Bomet County, areas to be affected include Olpisiai and GK Prisons Kilgoris, with power expected to be off from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Other affected places include Lolgorian, Mararianda, Kichwa Tembo, Angama, Partakilat, Mara Engai, Mara West, Angata Barrikoi, Gwitembe, Oldonyorok, Masurura, and nearby customers.

In Busia County, the outage will affect parts of Matayos from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Affected areas include Iwanya Girls, Matayos Youth Polytechnic, Matayos Health Centre, and surrounding customers.

In Migori County, Kenya Power will carry out maintenance in Macalder, Okenge, and Owiro from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The areas to be affected include Macalder Polytechnic, Macalder Industrial Park, Okenge Market, Okenge Secondary School, parts of Macalder Town, Owiro Primary School, and adjacent customers.

In Kiambu County, residents in Thogoto and Mission areas will be affected by the outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The power cut will impact Thogoto, Thogoto TTC, PUEA, University of Nairobi Kikuyu Campus, Kikuyu Mission and Hospital, Alliance Boys, Alliance Girls High School, Maihii, Green Garden School, Thogoto Junction, Mutaratara, Yellow Stone, and nearby customers.

The YMCA, Broadways, and BAT areas will also experience interruptions during the same period, affecting Mt. Kenya University, Munene Industries, Bhucho, Nampak, Kenya Paper Sintel, Mama Millers, Slaughter, Vine Park, and adjacent customers.

In Mombasa County, areas around Vikwatani and Mtopanga will be affected by a planned outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The affected locations include Vikwatani, Mwandoni, Mtopanga, Chembani, Hassan Joho Referral Hospital, Sunlight, Kajiweni, Concodia, Hussein Dairy, Camp David, Mwisho, Mlaleo, and surrounding areas.

In Kilifi County, the power cut will run slightly longer, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., affecting Watamu and Jacaranda. 

The areas set to experience interruptions include Jiwe Jeupe, Seven Islands, Jacaranda, Timboni, Gede, Watamu Village, Baracuda, Blue Bay, Kanani, Twiga, Papa Remo, Sun Palm, Fortamu, Mawe Nzuri Resort, Snake Farm, and nearby customers.
