The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has dismissed a notice claiming that it has declared two United Democratic Alliance (UDA) MCA aspirants as unopposed winners.
In a statement on Thursday, October 23, IEBC flagged the notice circulating on social media as fake.
The electoral body asked Kenyans to disregard the fake notice, which claimed Ruben Tobosei and Philip Kipkosgei had been declared duly elected as MCAs for Tembelio and Metkei wards, respectively.
IEBC urged members of the public to always visit the commission’s verified social media accounts for accurate information.
“The Gazette Notice circulating online titled “Declaration of No Contest for Members of Tembelio and Metkei Wards in the By-Elections scheduled for 27th November 2025” is fake. The Commission advises the public to disregard it. Visit our website and verified social media accounts for accurate information,” IEBC stated.
