Kenya Railways has issued a warning to Kenyans against fraudulent social media pages that are impersonating the company’s official platforms to scam unsuspecting passengers seeking to book train tickets.

In a statement on Tuesday, October 28, the corporation said it had identified fake online accounts that use the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) name and branding to mislead the public into making payments for non-existent bookings.

Kenya Railways clarified that it does not operate through the social media pages and urged members of the public to be vigilant.

"Please note these pages, SGR-Madaraka Express booking solutions, and SGR Online Booking Service, are managed by fraudsters who are out to con unsuspecting members of the public.

"Whenever you want to speak to us, please reach us through our official contacts," the corporation said.
