The Social Health Authority (SHA) has appointed CPA Pariken Ole Sankei as the new Director for Internal Audit.
In a statement on Wednesday, October 29, SHA Board Chairperson Abdi Mohamed said the appointment of Sankei followed a competitive recruitment process that began on July 29, 2025.
“The Social Health Authority (SHA) Board is pleased to announce the appointment of CPA Pariken Ole Sankei as the new Director of Internal Audit.
“This key appointment follows a competitive and transparent recruitment process that began on July 29, 2025,” read the statement in part.
Sankei is a seasoned professional Internal Auditor with over twenty years of experience from both the public and private sectors.

The new SHA Director for Internal Audit’s public sector experience includes leadership roles as Head of Internal Audit at the defunct National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) and the Public Service Commission (PSC). He also worked for the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA).
Sankei holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business Administration.
He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Public Secretary (CPS), holding professional memberships in the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).
Mohamed expressed confidence that Sankei will effectively steer the Authority’s mandate of providing financial protection for Kenyans in need of healthcare services.
“His wealth of experience will be vital as he joins the senior leadership team in steering the Authority's mandate of providing financial protection and strategic purchasing of healthcare services for all Kenyans,” the SHA Chairperson added.
This comes weeks after the authority announced the appointment of four new directors.
Mohamed, in a statement on September 12, said the appointment of the four directors followed a rigorous recruitment process that began on July 29, 2025.
"The Social Health Authority Board is pleased to announce the appointment of four new Directors following a competitive and transparent recruitment process that began on 29th July, 2025,” the statement read.
The appointments included Dr. Diana Marion as Director, Provider and Beneficiary Management; Golda Larissa Akolo as Director, Benefits and Claims Management; Mohamed Alio Ibrahim as Director, Corporate Services; and Jonathan Leisen as Director, Funds and Finance Management.
The Board explained that the new directors bring a wealth of invaluable experience that will help shape the organization’s strategic direction.
"This team’s expertise will be crucial in steering the Social Health Authority to achieve its mandate of providing financial risk protection for Kenyan residents and ensuring they have access to quality healthcare," Mohamed stated.
He further expressed appreciation to the SHA staff for supporting the leadership transition.
"The Board would like to express its profound gratitude to the staff for their unwavering dedication and support provided to the interim senior management team during the transition period,” Mohamed added.
