Pastor Dorcas Rigathi always gets a percentage from the proceeds of the family property sale.

Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has revealed how his family supports his wife's pastoral works.

Gachagua noted that the family has a policy that Pastor Dorcas Rigathi's ministry ought to be financed from their earnings.

Speaking in Wamunyoro on Saturday, November 15, during the ordination of his wife as a reverend, Gachagua explained that as a family, in every sale of property, at least 10% of the proceeds must be given to Pastor Dorcas.

He recalled that back in 2022, he had to commit the amount to her despite the tight financial constraints at the time of the presidential campaign.

Gachagua assured his spouse that the arrangement would be sustained as she embarks on her new role as a reverend.

"We want to assure you, on behalf of the boys, that we will continue to support your ministry. And we have, as we have always done, when we sell our family property, like we always do, we'll give you the 10% to continue your work. You know, just before the elections in 2022, when I was appointed running mate, I decided to sell a few of my properties to go to the campaign trail with the concurrence of my boys. But despite the fact that we needed every cent, Dorcas still had to get her 10% to work on her ministry," Gachagua said.

Pastor Dorcas Rigathi was ordained as reverend on Saturday, November 15.

Gachagua committed to stand by his wife on her ministerial journey.

He noted that it was an honour to have a high-level cleric in the family, promising to sustain her work and other charitable causes like helping the widows and the downtrodden.

"Before this congregation, I want to assure you of our continued support, and we are really very honoured as a family for this great honour. We encourage you to continue, do as much as you have been doing, continue helping the boy child, continue helping the widows, continue helping the people with disabilities, and continue with your ministry to preach the word of God," Gachagua said.

While Gachagua was in office, Gachagua's spouse was allocated a budget to undertake her roles.

She was specifically focused on enhancing the wellness of the boy child.

Her mission comprised rehabilitating young men messed up by alcohol and substance abuse.
