The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has predicted rainfall across 7 regions this week.
In a weather forecast on Monday, November 17, the weatherman predicted rain in the Central Highlands, Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, and Coast Region.
Other regions set to experience rainfall include the South East Lowlands, Western, and North Eastern Kenya.
The Met Department noted that most parts of the country will remain sunny and dry this week.
“Most areas to remain sunny and dry, with rainfall expected over the Central Highlands, Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, Coast, SE Lowlands, Western and NE Kenya,” read the forecast in part.

According to the department, the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley are expected to have sunny intervals during the day, with partly cloudy conditions at night.
However, morning rains as well as afternoon and night showers and thunderstorms are expected over a few places.
In the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, sunny intervals are also expected during the day and partly cloudy conditions at night.
The region is also expected to experience afternoon showers occurring in a few places.
In the South-eastern lowlands and the coast region, morning rains as well as afternoon and night showers are expected to occur over a few places.
At the same time, the Met Department announced that temperatures exceeding 30°C are expected in the Coast, North-Eastern, North-Western Kenya, parts of South East Lowlands, and the Rift Valley.
On the other hand, Central Highlands, Rift Valley, Western Kenya, and areas near Mt. Kilimanjaro will experience minimum night temperatures of below 10°C.
Last week, the weatherman predicted showers across the Central Highlands, Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, Coastal, South-Eastern Lowlands, Western, and North-Eastern Kenya regions.
KMD also predicted maximum daytime temperatures above 30°C in the Coast, North-Eastern, and North-Western Kenya, as well as parts of the South-Eastern Lowlands and Western Kenya.
Simultaneously, it announced that parts of the Central Highlands, Central Rift Valley, and around Mt. Kilimanjaro would have minimum night temperatures of below 10°C.
In the weather review for the period, the department mentioned that the highest seven-day rainfall total (69mm) was recorded at the Automatic Weather Station (AWS) in Migori County.
The Kikumbulyu Station in Makueni County recorded the highest 24-hour rainfall, registering 54.7mm on November 13, 2025.
“Comparing the 3rd to 9th November 2025 and the 10th to 16th November 2025 periods, it is noted that there was a decrease in rainfall amounts over most parts of the country with the exception of some parts of the South-eastern lowlands and the Coast,” Kenya Met stated.
Further, the department noted that maximum daytime temperatures increased in Laikipia, Nakuru, and Kakamega and decreased in Makindu, Marsabi,t and Eldoret.
