The FKF President went on to express confidence that Kenyan football players will be feted with CAF awards in the near future due to the structure the government is putting in place for sports.
“With the elaborate support structure the government is putting in place for sports and particularly football, I have no doubt our players shall soon be recipients of these coveted accolades as well,” he added.
CAF also recognized President Samia Suluhu of Tanzania and Yoweri Museveni of Uganda during the CAF awards.
CAF President Patrice Motsepe and FIFA President Gianni Infantino graced the prestigious event.
The award follows the successful African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament, which was jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
The tournament drew thousands of fans to Kasarani Stadium, who came to support the Harambee Stars team.
Kenya will co-host the 2027 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) alongside Uganda and Tanzania.
The government is currently constructing the 60,000-seater Talanta Sports Complex along Ngong Road, which will be used during the tournament.
Kenya is also planning to upgrade Nyayo and Kasarani stadiums ahead of the 2027 AFCON.
