Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua now says he does not understand whether the Jubilee party is in government or in the opposition.

Speaking on Sunday, November 23, during an interview, Gachagua questioned why the Jubilee party candidate for Narok Town ward by-election withdrew from the race in favour of a UDA party candidate.

Gachagua noted that other parties in the opposition withdrew their candidates and supported DCP’s Douglas Masikonte.

“I don’t understand because Wiper withdrew their candidate to support us, and the DP did the same. As for Jubilee, I don’t understand them.

“I don’t know whether they are in government or in the opposition, because I saw their candidate showing support to a UDA candidate,” said Gachagua.

The former DP went on to observe that President Ruto often says he is working with Jubilee Party leader Uhuru Kenyatta and that there are Cabinet Secretaries from the Jubilee Party in government.

Gachagua, however, said he is not bothered and expressed confidence that the DCP candidate will win the Narok Town ward seat.

“The Jubilee ministers are in Ruto’s government. Sometimes Ruto even says he is working with Uhuru. There are also Jubilee MPs who are aligned with Ruto, so I honestly don’t fully understand whether Jubilee is in government or with us. But I’m not bothered, we will defeat all of them,” added Gachagua.

On November 11, the Jubilee Candidate for Narok Town, Joshua Ole Kaputah, withdrew from the race and announced support for UDA’s Robert Kudate.

However, days later, Kaputah reversed his decision to withdraw from the race.

On Sunday, Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni joined Kaputah in campaigning for the Narok Town ward MCA seat.

“Today, I joined the Jubilee Party candidate for Narok Town Ward, Hon. Joshua ole Kaputah, on the campaign trail here in Narok. It was inspiring to walk with a leader who understands the needs of the people and is committed to delivering real, practical solutions,” Kioni said in a statement.
