On Thursday, August 20, Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua announced that he will fly out to the United States of America next week.
Gachagua stated that he is likely to leave for America on the evening of Wednesday, August 26, after closing the Wamunyoro consultation forum.
"On Monday, I will have the last meeting here, then on Wednesday, I will be in Kikuyu. On that evening, God willing, I will leave for the USA. Pray for my travel," he told his Wamunyoto neighbours.
The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) Leader confirmed that the trip was for official business and further engagements on his bid to unseat President William Ruto in 2027.
"I am heading there for work, not to rest. I have to organise a few things because you as I told you, William Ruto must go home," he stated.

He assured his neighbours, whom he hosted for a thanksgiving feast, that he had consolidated enough support at home alongside other leaders in the United Opposition.
The ex-DP and his troops then left Nyeri for Murang'a, where they formally opened a DCP office in Murang'a Town. He then held a roadside engagement with area residents.
Earlier, Gachagua wrote to Police Inspector General Douglas Kanja demanding security ahead of his visit to Emurua Dikirr Constituency.
He alleged that the area MP David Kipsang had allegedly threatened him and declared that neither he nor his entourage should be allowed to enter the constituency.
The DCP Leader alluded to plans to mobilise goons and plainclothes officers to cause mayhem. He told the IG that he was concerned that if executed, the attack would be worse than what occurred in Homa Bay County.
"This, you are adequately aware of. Be well informed that the instructions issued to Mr Kipsang are that the Homa Bay chaos should be a shadow of what needs to happen in Emurua Dikirr," he claimed.
