Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions that will affect nine counties on Tuesday, December 2.

In a notice on Monday, December 1, the company said the outages are necessary to allow for routine maintenance works.

In Nairobi, Kenya Power said electricity will be switched off in parts of Obama estate between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. 

This interruption will affect Obama, Hemi Chemi and adjacent customers.

Another outage will hit Part of Riverside Drive, Riverside Residency, Pearl Residence, Ugandan High Commission, German High Commission, Riverside Mews, Mandari Kindergarten, IBury Lounge, International Organization of Migration, Strathmore School, Mzima Springs, Part of Tende Drive, Riverside Groove, Sri Aurobindo Avenue and adjacent customers during the same hours.

In Makueni, the first interruption will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., covering Whole of Emali Town, Matiliku Market, Kalamba Fruit Factory, Kalamba Market, Nziu Market, Kilili Market, Masumba Met, Kikumini Market, Mulala Market, Mbenu Market, Kithumani Market, Masokani Market and adjacent customers.

The second outage, also from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., will affect Simba Cement, Emali Masaini, Duja Moja, Isara Market, Mashuru Market, Sultan Market, Jet Inn Hotel, Ap Camp, Portland Cement, Imbuko Market, Elerai Ngatu Market, Imaroro Market, Lenksim along Loitoktok Road, Mashuru Road, Samuli, Civicon, Sidai Farm, Pipeline and adjacent customers.

Kericho County will face a planned outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Soko Huru, Kamasega Dispensary, Chepsoo Dispensary, Kapkawa, Chesiche and adjacent customers in the Kaitui Market area.

In Bomet, power will be off between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. for customers in GK Prisons Kilgoris, Olpisai, Lolgorian, Mararianda, Kichwa Tembo, Angama, Partakilat, Mara Engai, Mara West, Angata Barrikoi, Gwitembe, Ol-donyorok, Masurura and adjacent customers.

Kakamega residents in the Butere area will be affected between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The outage covers Shiatsala Market, Manyulia, Mabole, Khumtibo, Maobo TTI and adjacent customers.

Nyeri County will see power interruptions in two areas; from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., power will be cut in Rongai, Kakulet, Dawama, Judea, Narumoro Girls, Narumoro Dairy, Mere, Lusoi, Munyu and adjacent customers.

The second outage, during the same hours, will affect Kiriani Town, Kiriani Mission Hospital, Kamacharia Girls, Kiriani Girls, Ka-riki Market, Witima Market, Gikira Hydro Power, Geitwa Market, Thuita Market, Chinga C/Fact, Riakiberu C/Fact, Kiamuya Secondary, Irindi Secondary, Kiru Secondary, Kiruru C/Fact, Kanjama Market, Umbui Market, Ndiara C/Fact and adjacent customers.

In Kiambu, Kenya Power will interrupt supply between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to Gituamba Girls Borehole, Escarpment Village, Kongothiria, Old Kirenga Market, Rukuma Level 4 Hospital, Kabunge, Kambaa Girls High School, Lari DCC Offices, Carbacid Factory, Magina, Mainge, Kimende Town, Kinale, Soko Mjinga, Utugi, Kirasha, Kwa Edward, Sulmac and adjacent customers.

Kilifi residents will also experience power cuts in two regions; from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., outages will hit North Coast Beach Hotel, Royal Reserve, Whispering Palms, Sonko Family Resort, Gurdumu Villah, Kwa Dena, Kwa Rogo, Barani Timboni, Barani Primary, Barani kwa Mtambo, Barani 4 Farms, Solian Kanamai, Saafi Sana Ltd, Kwa Mutua, Kwa Kariuki, Toto Dogo, Havenlight Academy, Mtwap Primary, Bilady, Benguma Village and adjacent customers.

A second outage will affect Temple Point, Turtle Bay, Watamu Village, Seven Islands, Dongo Kundu, Kanani, Sun Palm, Casino Watamu, Watamu Police, Watamu Hospital, Blue Bay, Plot 4 to Plot 48, Pilipan, Snake Farm, Fortamu, Timboni, Dabaso Gede, Jimba, Barracuda Medina Palms, Heming Ways, Peponi, Coast Boys, Malindi Handi Craft, Kwa Mkikuyu and adjacent customers during the same period.

In Taita Taveta, Kenya Power will cut supply from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. affecting Nyache Primary School and adjacent customers.
