King Charles III has written to President William Ruto, extending warm congratulations to Kenya on the occasion of Jamhuri Day and reaffirming the enduring partnership between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Kenya.
In the letter, King Charles reflected on the deep-rooted relationship between the two nations and expressed optimism about future collaboration on shared priorities.
"Mr. President, my wife and I have great pleasure in sending Your Excellency, and the people of the Republic of Kenya, our heartfelt congratulations on the auspicious occasion of Jamhuri Day," King Charles wrote.
King Charles expressed his appreciation for the strong ties that bind the two countries, highlighting the trust and friendship that form the foundation of their relationship.
"I reflect on, and value greatly, the enduring partnership between our two countries, which is built on trust and friendship. I cherish the memories of my visits to Kenya and the generous welcome I have received from its people," he stated.

The King emphasized his commitment to seeing the bilateral relationship continue to thrive as both nations work together on critical global challenges.
"I look forward to seeing our close ties continue to flourish as we work together on shared priorities - advancing mutual prosperity, tackling climate change, and protecting our planet's biodiversity," he wrote.
He also expressed his delight with the United Kingdom-Kenya British Council Season held this year, which he said brought fresh perspectives to the bilateral relationship.
"This year, I was delighted by the United Kingdom-Kenya British Council Season, which brought fresh perspectives to our relationship. The season showcased creativity and innovation across arts, culture, and education, strengthening connections between our communities and inspiring new collaborations," the King noted.
The monarch acknowledged that climate and nature remain at the forefront of joint endeavors between the two countries, following the renewal of the United Kingdom-Kenya Strategic Partnership earlier this year.
"I am heartened that climate and nature remain at the forefront of our endeavours, following the renewal of the United Kingdom-Kenya Strategic Partnership this year. Kenya's leadership in championing climate resilience and green growth across the region is an inspiration, and I look forward to deepening our collaboration in these vital areas," King Charles wrote.
"My wife and I extend our warmest good wishes to you and to the people of the Republic of Kenya for the year ahead," he stated.
The letter comes months after President William Ruto held a telephone conversation with King Charles III, where they discussed Kenya's long-standing relationship with the United Kingdom.
"I have had a telephone conversation with His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom. We discussed Kenya's long-standing and close ties with the United Kingdom," Ruto said following the February 2025 phone call.
"I am glad that Kenya and the United Kingdom have a shared passion for nature and climate conservation. We also discussed regional peace and security and Kenya's role," he added.
The phone conversation followed King Charles III and Queen Camilla's state visit to Kenya in 2023, their first to a Commonwealth nation since Charles became monarch.
During the four-day visit from October 31 to November 3, 2023, the royal couple was received by President Ruto at State House in Nairobi.
