Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has cautioned President Uhuru Kenyatta against betraying his handshake partner Raila Odinga after he leaves office in 2022.
According to Senator Murkomen, the President has no option but to support Odinga should he decide to vie for the top seat in 2022.
The vocal senator who is allied to Deputy President Willliam Ruto appeared to dismiss talks between the latter and the ODM leader noting that Hustlers’ have their own plan.
“It will be a mistake of monumental proportion for Uhuru Kenyatta to shortchange Raila Odinga when he knows that Daniel Arap Moi shortchanged Him (Tinga) for his (Uhuru’s) sake. He must stand by his decision through BBI & support Raila in 2022. Hustlers already have their own plan,” Murkomen tweeted.

Reacting to the tweet, former Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando said: “I endorse this message.”
Murkomen’s tweet comes amid claims of ongoing alliance talks between DP Ruto and Odinga.
While allies of the DP have dismissed any ongoing talks, media reports indicate that the DP has been meeting an associate of Odinga over a possible coalition in 2022.
Last week, ODM Deputy Party Leader Governor Wycliffe Oparanya met DP Ruto with reports indicating that their meeting was centered on 2022 politics.
Reports of a possible coalition between Odinga and Ruto emerged in March after the latter said he had no personal issues with the ODM leader.
According to Ruto, his differences with Raila are ideological. The two worked together in 2007 but had a major fallout ahead of the 2013 general election.
