Ministry of Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha has confirmed that a KCSE exam paper was tampered with on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 hours before students sat for the same paper.
Addressing the media, CS Magoha noted that Agriculture paper 1 that was to done from 11 am on Wednesday was tampered with in one of the examination centers.
He noted that investigations have begun adding that those found guilty will be dealt with accordingly.
“As I speak to you now, we are trailing the culprits who exposed the agriculture paper which has just been done… That paper is a security document and when you expose it, you don’t know how we’ll trail where it was exposed from. Certain papers are meant for certain specific areas and for certain schools.

“You may think you are very smart but this has taken the government quite a bit of time to develop the paper,” Magoha said in part.
He urged security officers manning exam centers to be extra vigilant and trust no one in order to avoid cases of exam irregularities.
“I want to charge all security officers not to trust any center manager because for them to cut and remove any paper, then the officer must have been hoodwinked,” he added.
The KCSE exams have been on for the past two weeks and are set to be completed next week.
So far, several center managers, principals, and supervisors have been arrested in connection to examination malpractice.
