Jane Muthoni, the widow of Kiiru Boys High School principal Solomon Mwangi, was found guilty of murdering the headteacher.
On Thursday Justice Joel Ngugi convicted Muthoni and her co-accused Isaac Ng'ang'a and the duo will be sentenced on May 18, 2021.
Mwangi went missing on November 6, 2016, and his body was found mutilated and dumped in a coffee plantation on November 14, 2016. He had reportedly procured an Sh10 million loan before he went missing.
Muthoni and Ng’ang’a were later arrested in connection with the murder. The former principal of Icaciri Secondary School in Kiambu was accused of hitting assassins to kill Mwangi.
According to the prosecution, Muthoni hired four people to kill her husband after she suspected he was having an extra-marital affair.
A key suspect, Joseph Kariuki confessed to taking part in the murder and was sentenced to seven years in prison for manslaughter.
Police are still looking for the fourth suspect, Nelson Njiru.
