Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has attacked Jubilee Party vice chair David Murathe accusing him of being the “father of corruption and tenderprenuership” in the country.
Murathe has been trending for the past few hours after he was linked to one of the companies being investigated for involvement in the Kemsa scandal.
The Jubilee Party vice chair was scheduled to appear before the Public Investments Committee on Thursday, for a probe on the multi-billion Kemsa scandal, but he did not show up only sending an affidavit.
In his affidavit, Murathe claimed that he does not own either of the companies, adding that he is neither a director nor a shareholder in any of the mentioned entities.

According to him, he only acted as a signatory to Kilig Limited’s bank account in order to ensure that Entec Technology Limited, the supplier of the PPE kits, would be paid once KEMSA completed the procurement process.
Murathe indicated that immediately Kemsa cancelled its commitment letter to Kilig limited, he ceased being the company’s signatory.
In a tweet hours after Murather’s revelation, Senator Murkomen accused the veteran politician of being an “agent” of corruption in the country.
“I am surprised that there is a Kenyan who didn’t know that Murathe is the father of corruption and tenderpreneurship. The sad news is that he is the agent. Who is the principal ? Your guess is as good as mine,” Murkomen tweeted.
