Nyandarua County Assembly speaker Wahome Ndegwa was denied entry into the chambers despite a court order reinstating him.

There was drama at the Nyandarua County Assembly after the speaker was denied entry into the chambers.

Member of the Nyandarua County Assembly defied a court order reinstating Wahome Ndegwa as speaker.

The MCAs are reported to have directed security guards not to allow Ndegwa into the county assembly chambers.

When Ndegwa arrived at the assembly on May 5, 2021, he was denied entry, which resulted in a back and forth between the speaker and security officers.

He argued that the MCAs had no right to keep him out of house business, especially after he was reinstated by the court.

Ndegwa accused the county governor of ordering security officers to keep him from the county assembly.

He appealed to President Uhuru Kenyatta to intervene and bring order to the county government of Nyandarua.

"I am declaring that this assembly will stand adjourned. We will resume when we shall be moving to court," Ndegwa stated.

MCAs dismissed his allegations, telling him off over the move to rope President Kenyatta into county affairs.

The MCAs accused him of abusing the office of the speaker, termed him as corrupt.
