Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha has dismissed rumours that results for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams will be released today.
Speaking at Starehe Boys Centre on Friday, Prof Magoha noted that the results will be announced once the marking process is completed.
"There should be no rumours as to when exam results will be ready. They will be ready when they are ready," the Education CS said.
There had been speculation on social media that Prof Magoha would announce the 2020 KSCE results on Friday, May 7 2021 but the CS has dismissed the claims.
He further confirmed that schools will reopen on May 10, 2021, for the third term as initially planned. "We shall open on 10 Monday as was decided by a large group of education stakeholders," he said.

Prof Magoha had initially stated that KCSE 2020 exam results will be released by May 10, 2021, while candidates sit their final paper.
On Tuesday this week, teachers marking the 2020 KCSE exams went on a go-slow to protest their reduced allowances.
Reports emerged that teachers at the State House Girls Nairobi marking Centre had been informed that their colleagues in other stations had been released without pay and this caused the go slow.
This caused fears that the release of the 2020 KCSE results might be delayed.
