The Ministry of Health has announced 568 more positive Covid-19 cases from a sample size of 9,029 tested over the last 24 hours. The total confirmed cases in the country now stands at 162,666.
MoH reports that the cumulative tests stand at 1,710,414. The country's positivity rate is 6.3 percent.
551 out of the total are Kenyans whereas 17 are foreign nationals. 344 are male while 224 are female.
The youngest of the positive cases is a one-year-old baby, while the oldest is 105 years old.
MoH announced that 173 people have recovered from the virus, taking the total recoveries in the country to 110,653. 130 were from Home Based Care programme while 43 were discharged from various health facilities from across the country.
Cumulative fatalities in the country rose to 2865 after MoH announced 15 more deaths resulting from Covid-19.
The Ministry noted that 5 are from diverse dates across the last one month, and 10 are late death reports from facility record audits.
"Our sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their loved ones," MoH stated.
1,086 patients are currently admitted in various medical facilities across the country, while 6,381 are in the Home Based Isolation Care programme.
131 patients are in the Intensive Care Units (ICUs), 28 of whom are on ventilatory support and 83 are on supplemental oxygen. 20 patients are on observation.
Another 111 are separately on supplemental oxygen with 103 in general wards and 8 i High Dependency Units (HDU)
The ministry urged Kenyans to continue adhering to set guidelines in the fight against the pandemic, as it strives to resolve the vaccine shortage.
