Police Officers have arrested two suspects and recovered 41 suspected stolen phones in Nairobi Central Business District (CBD).
In a statement on Friday, August 7, the National Police Service (NPS) said the suspects were arrested during an intelligence-led operation at a shop in Norwich House along Kimathi Street.
During the operation, the officers recovered the phones, which were concealed inside a locked safe.
“The National Police Service has sustained its crackdown on mobile phone theft syndicates, with police officers from Central Police Station in Nairobi Region conducting yet another intelligence-led operation at a shop in Norwich House along Kimathi Street.
“The operation resulted in the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of 41 assorted mobile phones concealed inside a locked safe,” read the statement.

The recovered phones were secured as exhibits as investigators work to establish their ownership.
Meanwhile, police officers are pursuing a third suspect who managed to escape during the operation.
“The National Police Service remains steadfast in its efforts to dismantle criminal networks and to bring all those involved in crime to justice,” NPS added.
This comes days after police arrested four suspects and recovered 132 suspected stolen mobile phones and 2 laptops.
In a statement on Tuesday, August 4, the National Police Service (NPS) said the suspects were arrested during an operation at the Nyaura area in Kayole, Nairobi County.
NPS noted that one of the suspects arrested is a man believed to be a major receiver of mobile phones stolen by street robbers.
“Acting on intelligence, a team of officers from Kayole Police Station in Nairobi Region conducted an operation in the Nyaura area, leading to the arrest of four suspects.
“Among them was a man believed to be a key receiver of mobile phones stolen by street snatchers, alongside three other suspects linked to a series of phone-snatching incidents,” NPS stated.
