The Wiper Patriotic Front has announced changes to its leadership, appointing former Kigumo MP Jamleck Irungu Kamau as the party's new chairman.
The appointments were announced by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka during a press conference on Friday, August 7.
Congratulating Kamau on his appointment, Kalonzo welcomed him to the new role as party chairman.
"Congratulations Hon. Jamleck Irungu Kamau on your appointment as Chairman of the Wiper Patriotic Front," he wrote.
The party also named Nyali MP Mohamed Ali as its Deputy Party Leader designate, with Kalonzo praising his integrity and commitment to public service.

"The Honourable Mohamed Ali becomes our Deputy Party Leader designate. He brings a name that this regime cannot buy and will not intimidate," the former Vice President said.
Kalonzo further lauded Ali's record in safeguarding public resources, saying his experience in investigative journalism continues to influence his leadership in public office.
"That instinct to expose rather than conceal, to serve rather to extract, has not left him. As the Chairman of the Finance Committee on the Parliamentary Service Commission, Hon Ali guards public funds with the same discipline he once brought to investigative journalism," he added.
Wiper also created the office of spokesperson and appointed advocate Ndegwa Njiru as its first holder, with Kalonzo describing him as a defender of ordinary citizens against abuse of power.
"Ndegwa Njiru becomes the party's first Spokesperson; a new office created for a new struggle. Njiru is an advocate who has spent time standing between ordinary Kenyans and the arbitrary abuse of power," the Wiper leader stated.
Responding to his appointment, Njiru expressed gratitude to the party leadership for the confidence placed in him and pledged to serve both the party and the country.
"Thank you for this distinguished honor. I am deeply honored by your confidence and humbled by the opportunity to serve you, the party, and our great nation, Kenya," he wrote.
This comes days after Kamau announced that he will not contest the Murang'a gubernatorial seat in the 2027 General Election.
In a statement on Tuesday, August 4, Kamau said he had arrived at the decision after extensive consultations, reflection, and prayers.
"To my supporters in Murang'a County and all Kenyans, after deep reflection, consultation, and prayers, I wish to formally announce that I will not be vying for the position of Governor of Murang'a County," he said.
Kamau said his decision was guided by his understanding of leadership as a commitment to public service rather than the pursuit of elective office.
He maintained that despite stepping away from the gubernatorial race, his dedication to serving the people of Murang'a County and Kenya remains unchanged.
"This decision has been made with a clear conscience and a firm conviction that leadership is ultimately about serving the people not merely seeking elective office. My commitment to the people of Murang'a and to Kenya remains unwavering," he added.
Kamau further revealed that he will now channel his efforts toward supporting The United Alternative Government.
He said he believes the movement's vision of promoting unity, accountability, justice, and prosperity offers the country a path toward meaningful transformation.
"Going forward, I have chosen to dedicate my energy and efforts to supporting The United Alternative Government, whose vision is to build a united, just, accountable, and prosperous Kenya for all.
"I firmly believe that real transformation comes when patriotic citizens come together to champion good governance, integrity, and people-centered leadership," he further said.
