The Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Mohamed Amin has revealed that two police officers were involved in the murder of the late Dr Victoria Mutiso.
Speaking on Friday, August 7, DCI Amin confirmed that Police Constable Elijah Kibelion Kemboi was the officer who pulled the trigger that killed Dr Mutiso.
PC Kemboi is attached to the Karinde Police Post, which is under the Kikuyu Police Station. The accused has been arrested.
"An analysis of evidence has established the identity of the officer who pulled the trigger. One PC Elijah Kibelion Kimoi, attached to Karinde Police Post under Kikuyu Police Station, has equally been arrested. We were able to forensically place him at the scene of the fatal shooting.
"He is the individual identified as having fatally shot Dr Mutiso," he stated.

The DCI Boss confirmed that a second police officer was also involved in the orchestration of the deceased's murder.
He disclosed that the police have launched a manhunt for Nderi Police Post OCS Inspector Kenneth Kipkemboi Sang, who was the link between the financers and the team that conducted the hit. Inspector Sang is accused of sourcing the weapon.
"The evidence led our investigators to Kenya Police Service officers who, apparently and unfortunately, played very critical roles in the conspiracy. Inspector Kenneth Kipkemboi Sang, the officer in charge of Nderi Police Post under Kikuyu Police Station, has been positively identified as the link person between the financiers and the operational team, as well as the source of the murder weapon, and this officer is currently on the run," he stated.
He further termed the involvement of the officers as a disgrace to the uniform and a betrayal of public trust.
DCI Amin revealed that Daniel Mwangi Njoroge and Kelvin Ngugi Kinuthia organised the operation to end the doctor's life. Investigators established that Njoroge was behind the wheel of the Toyota Prado that blocked the Uber vehicle ferrying the late Dr Mutiso before her alleged execution.
"Daniel has been established as a central organiser of the operation. He coordinated the logistics; he facilitated the movement of the execution team, and he also played a key organisational role in the entire conspiracy," he stated.
On the other hand, Kinuthia is accused of ferrying the shooter to the crime scene using a motorcycle
The Investigating agency revealed that Njoroge had hired two Toyota Prado vehicles from a firm between July 29 and 30. A tracking device on the vehicles placed them at the scene at the exact time the doctor was killed.
Investigators have further established that Rose Mbinde Mulwa and her son, Christopher Mulwa, were the primary organisers and financiers of the conspiracy.
The officers established that the evidence gathered points to their central role in conceptualising, directing, and facilitating the operation that culminated in the unfortunate shooting of Dr Mutiso
Earlier, former Deputy President Gachagua had accused the DCI Boss of trying to cover up the police officers involved in the murder. He threatened to expose the officers if DCI Amin failed to unmask them.
