The Kenya Meteorological Department has forecast a mix of rainfall and sunny intervals across the country on Saturday, in a bulletin issued on Friday, August 7.
According to the department, rain is expected in parts of Uasin Gishu, Bungoma, Busia, Kisumu, Siaya, Narok, Kericho, Kakamega, Trans-Nzoia, Vihiga, Elgeyo Marakwet, Bomet, Nandi, West Pokot, Nakuru, Nyamira, Kisii, Nyeri, Embu, Meru, Tharaka-Nithi, Kirinyaga, Laikipia, Kilifi, Mombasa and Lamu counties.
Cool and cloudy conditions will intermittently affect Embu, Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Laikipia, Meru, Murang'a, Nairobi, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Tharaka-Nithi, Kitui, Makueni and Kajiado counties, the department said.
It also warned of strong southerly to southeasterly winds exceeding 25 knots (12.5m/s) over Turkana, Marsabit, Isiolo, Garissa, Mandera, Wajir, Tana River, Taita Taveta, Kwale, Kilifi and Lamu counties.
In the coastal region, Mombasa will see a chance of light showers in the morning, breaking into sunny intervals, with sunny spells and light showers returning in the afternoon; temperatures will range between 21°C and 29°C.

Kilifi is expected to record light showers breaking into sunny intervals through the day, while Lamu, Tana River, Taita Taveta and Kwale will experience largely sunny intervals.
Nairobi will have cloudy conditions with sunny intervals in the morning, clearing to sunny intervals in the afternoon, with temperatures between 14°C and 23°C.
Central Kenya counties, including Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Nyandarua, Embu and Kitui, will experience cloudy mornings breaking into sunny intervals, with isolated light showers expected in the afternoon over Nyeri, Kirinyaga and Embu. Nyandarua recorded the lowest minimum temperature nationwide, at 7°C.
In the Rift Valley, Nakuru, Narok, Bomet and Kericho will see sunny intervals in the morning giving way to moderate showers and thunderstorms over several places by afternoon. Turkana will remain largely dry with sunny intervals, registering the country's highest maximum temperature at 36°C.
Western Kenya counties, Kakamega, Bungoma, Trans-Nzoia and Uasin Gishu, face a similar pattern, with light rain clearing to sunny intervals in the morning before moderate showers and thunderstorms return over several places in the afternoon.
Nyanza counties, including Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii and Nyamira, will enjoy largely sunny intervals through the day, with Kisumu seeing light showers in a few places by afternoon.
The eastern and northeastern counties of Garissa, Wajir, Mandera, Isiolo and Marsabit will remain generally dry with sunny intervals; Mandera is set to be the hottest county in the country, with a maximum of 35°C.
The department also reported rainfall totals between Thursday, August 6, and Friday, August 7, with Kericho recording the highest amount at just under 20mm, followed by Kakamega.
Lower totals were recorded in Nakuru, Lamu, Hindi and Witu weather stations, while Moyale recorded the least.
