The ICT Authority has announced 400 internship opportunities for qualified recent university graduates under the Presidential Digital Talent Program (PDTP) Cohort XI Intake.
In a notice on Tuesday, August 18, the Authority said the initiative is aimed at providing young graduates with practical experience while preparing them for employment opportunities in ICT and other sectors.
"Through this transformative initiative, the Government is looking for young talented Kenyans with a passion for ICT and Public Service to undergo a structured 12-month internship program in both the public and private sectors," the notice read.
The Authority said the programme will also focus on developing graduates’ skills and preparing them to take advantage of employment opportunities that may arise after the internship.
"The objective of the program is to develop and prepare young ICT graduates to take up employment opportunities that come up in the ICT as well as other sectors," the notice added.

According to the ICT Authority, interns will benefit from practical workplace exposure, professional mentorship and opportunities to strengthen both technical and professional skills during the programme.
"Participants will gain valuable workplace experience, receive mentorship from industry professionals, enhance their technical and professional competencies, refine their career aspirations, and build strong professional networks," the notice further read.
The internship positions have been distributed across five areas; Network and Digital Infrastructure has 150 opportunities, while Software Development and Artificial Intelligence has 100 positions.
Information Security has been allocated 50 opportunities, Data Analytics has 50 positions, while Multimedia (Graphic Design) and Digital Marketing has 50 opportunities.
To qualify, applicants must have graduated with First or Second-Class Honours - Upper Division, or the equivalent, from a recognised institution within the last two years from January 2024.

Applicants who are awaiting graduation up to December 2026 are required to provide a recommendation or reference letter from their university, signed and stamped, confirming that they are expected to graduate with First or Upper Second-Class Honours.
The programme is open to recent bachelor’s degree graduates in ICT or Engineering disciplines, including IT/ICT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications and other closely related fields.
Applicants are expected to have thorough knowledge in their chosen area of specialisation.
The ICT Authority said candidates may be required to demonstrate their technical competencies in their core area before the interview.
Applicants must also be Kenyan citizens aged between 21 and 29 years, unemployed and must not have previously undertaken a Government of Kenya internship programme.
Successful applicants must be willing and ready to be deployed to any Ministry, Department, Agency, Corporation or County Government within the 47 counties.
The internship will be undertaken on a full-time basis from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
The ICT Authority has encouraged female applicants, persons with disabilities and graduates from Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL) regions to apply.
Interested applicants are required to complete the online application form through the official PDTP application portal and attach all relevant documents requested in the form.
Incomplete applications will not be considered, while only shortlisted candidates will be contacted to attend interviews.

Meanwhile, the Kenya Space Agency (KSA) has announced 35 job opportunities for Kenyans.
The vacant positions include Principal Officer, Remote Sensing, Principal Officer, Geographic Information System, Space Infrastructure and Facility Development Officer, Space Science and Astronomy Officer, Space Operations and Systems Engineer, Navigation and Positioning Officer, Satellite Communication Officer, Surveillance Officer, Enforcement Officer, Remote Sensing Officer and Geographic Information Systems Officer.
Others are Geo-Information & Data Management Officer, Software Engineer, Space Digital Infrastructure Officer, Space Research & Innovation Officer, Space Education & Awareness Officer, Planning Officer, Quality Assurance Officer, Finance Officer, Accountant, Internal Auditor, Human Resource Officer and Administration Officer.
The agency is also seeking to fill the positions of Corporate Communications Officer, Legal Officer, Supply Chain Management Officer, Assistant Corporate Communications Officer, Driver, Senior Office Assistant and Office Assistant.
