Nyandarua Senator John Methu has sensationally claimed that Kiharu Member of Parliament (MP) Ndindi Nyoro's People's Party of Kenya (PPK)is an extension of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
Speaking in Wamunyoro on Tuesday, August 18, Methu stated that PPK was part of President William Ruto's plan not only to divide the Mount Kenya vote but also to ensure that leaders allied to him did not lose their seats in 2027.
He disclosed that DCP Leader Rigathi Gachagua had foreseen the formation of new political parties in the region, a repetition of what the late Retired President Daniel Moi did in 1992 to split the region to secure his re-election.
"These wheelbarrows that are coming up, we know all of them. We knew they were coming. We saw one that was launched yesterday, and we were waiting for it because we had been told that there was a wheelbarrow from Murang'a; it does not come to us as a surprise," Methu stated.
The DCP Secretary General-designate intimated that additional 'wheelbarrows' would be deployed in Laikipia and Nakuru. Nonetheless, he told President Ruto that his plan would not work.

Methu wondered how Nyoro managed to register his party with ease, yet the Linda Mwananchi team had been struggling with the process for months.
"You know these wheelbarrows are being registered overnight. Linda Mwananchi has been trying to register for the last two months, but if you have a wheelbarrow, it is easier.
"A wheelbarrow is a wheelbarrow, and we will deal with small wheelbarrows in the same way we have dealt with the big one," he noted.
He stated that just as in Ol Kalou, voters from the region would easily weed out the so-called UDA-annexed parties and that they would unite behind Gachagua as their leader.
Methu reiterated claims by Gachagua that Ruto had plans to sponsor several leaders from the region to run for the top office to counter his former Deputy's influence.
"We know that after you have formed the wheelbarrows, you will try to introduce new presidential candidates from this region. Let me give you bad news; the people know who their leader is and the party they belong to," he stated.
Meanwhile, he maintained that the Head of State's support in Mount Kenya had plummeted to below five percent, and would go lower by the time the country goes to the ballot.
His attack came after Nyoro launched the PPK party and declared that he had officially ditched UDA. The Kiharu lawmaker announced that he had officially joined the Opposition.
