Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions in 10 counties, including Nairobi and Nakuru, on Thursday.

Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions in several parts of the country on Thursday, August 20.

In a notice on Wednesday, August 19, the company said the outages will affect Nairobi, Nakuru, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Kisumu, Nyeri, Laikipia, Kiambu, Kilifi, Taita Taveta and Kwale counties.

In Nairobi County, power will be interrupted along Langata Road and parts of South C from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The affected areas will include Kabiyet Estate, Civil Servants, Muslim Academy, part of Kewi, Akiba 100, Hamayuni, House of Grace, Bible Study, part of Langata Road, part of Mbagathi Road, and Uhuru AP Camp

Others are Texas Cancer Centre, Kwetu Hostel, part of Dam Estate, Langata Deliverance Church, Funguo Estate, White Star Academy and Jonathan Gloag School, among adjacent customers.

In Nakuru County, the Njoro Egerton area will experience an outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The interruption will affect Egerton Sacco, Egerton University, Kenya Highlands, Bliss Flora, Sojamini Flowers, part of Nesuiti, Beeston, and Mwigito.

Egerton Centre, Fontana, Kihingo, Stoo Mbili, Mauche, Fina Flora, Kaptich, Piave, Bagaria and Pwani will also be affected.

In Uasin Gishu County, customers in Kosachei and Maanzini will be without electricity from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The affected locations will include Kosachei, Maanzini, Waitaluk, Kapkong and Tumaini, together with adjacent customers.

In Nandi County, the Siwo and Choimim Tea Factory areas will experience an interruption from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 

Areas listed for the outage include Choimim Tea Factory, Siwo Secondary School, Rehema Academy and Siwo Market.

In Kisumu County, Kenya Power has scheduled two separate interruptions. Katungu will be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., covering Gatungu Primary, Kencel Towers and Gatungu Market. 

Opepo will experience an outage from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., affecting Kisumu Concrete, Ndugu Transport, Marago and Opepo, among adjacent customers.

In Nyeri County, three areas have been listed for power interruptions between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. 

The Solio Ranch and Solio Lodge areas will be affected, including the Solio Managers Office, Solio Ranch Pump, Solio Ranch Workshop, Solio Spray Rice and DOD Transmitter.

The Ihururu and Nyamakuyu areas will also be affected during the same period, including Ihururu Village, PCEA Nyamakuyu, Nyamakuyu Village and Nyamakuyu Tea Buying Centre.

Gathungururu and Tambaya will similarly experience an interruption from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The affected locations will include Gathungururu Girls, Kanunga Boster, Tambaya Market, Tambaya Boys, Gatura Market, Kiawamururu Market, Migombaini, Ningaini Dispensary, Kaheti Boys and Rev Muhoro School for the Deaf.

In Laikipia County, the Chumvi and Doldo areas will be affected from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The outage will cover Chumvi, Olkinyei, Kiwanja Ndege, Doldo Boys Secondary School, Doldo Market, Picha, Ilporei, Kimanju, Ewaso, Ndugu za Nguni and Oldonyiro.

In Kiambu County, two areas will experience power interruptions from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The Sigona, Zambezi and Mugumoini areas will be affected, including Nderi, KARI, Muguga, KETRI, Mugumoini, Kamangu, Kamangu Shopping Centre and Runana.

The Hamundia and Ndarasha areas will also be affected during the same hours. Listed locations include Hamundia Dispensary, Jabesu, Ndururumo, Ngoma Tupu, Karia, Kwa Tom, Chaka, Kwa Muya, Ndarasha Mke, St. Paul Ndarasha, Mathitima and Munyaka.

In Kilifi County, the Kakuyuni, Ganda, Marafa and Mambrui areas will experience an outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The affected locations will include Mayiwani Primary, Kakuyuni, Ganda, Mambrui, Karibuni Vilas, KBC, GOTV, Kagombani, Marafa Town, Wakala, Garashi, Dakacha, Masindeni, Majengo Marafa Hospital and DCC Office Marafa, among adjacent customers.

In Taita Taveta County, Godoma, Timbila and Kwa Kang’ero will be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The interruption will cover the whole of Godoma, Kwa Mnengwa, Timbila kwa Matano, Kwa Kang’ero and Kwa Marissa.

In Kwale County, customers in Mvindeni and Kona Musa will experience an outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The affected areas will include Mvindeni, Mascrape, Kona Musa, Ibiza, Bongwe and Diani Police, together with adjacent customers.
