Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has urged Emurua Dikirr residents to welcome former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua as he tours the constituency.

Speaking on Friday, August 21, Sudi called on the Emurua Dikirr locals to shun violence and maintain peace during Gachagua’s tour.

“The people of Emurua Dikirr, I want to ask you, please welcome Gachagua. We do not want any violence or noise.

“Let him come, speak his mind, finish, and leave. That is the Kenya we want,” Sudi stated.

The UDA MP went on to say no one should be injured during Gachagua’s visit because of politics.

“We don’t want anyone to get hurt or blood to be shed anywhere because of politics,” Sudi added.

Gachagua is scheduled to hold a series of rallies in Emurua Dikirr on Friday to popularize his DCP party.

On Thursday, the former DP wrote to the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, raising concerns about alleged threats against him during his tour to Emurua Dikirr.

Gachagua claimed that his decision to visit the constituency has been met with threats from the sitting MP, David Keter, and other individuals.

He said the threats have been captured on video and circulated on social media and reported by mainstream media.

"My attention has, however, been drawn to threats issued by the current Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr, Mr. David Kipsang Keter, and a handful of others, which have been recorded on video, shared online, and reported by the mainstream and social media, that my entourage and I should not set foot in Emurua Dikirr on 21st August 2026," he added.

Gachagua further alleged that Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen and Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo had financed Keter to mobilise individuals whom he claimed could cause violence during the planned visit.

"This, you are adequately aware of. Be well informed that the instructions issued to Mr. Kipsang are that the Homa Bay chaos should be a shadow of what needs to happen in Emurua Dikirr," he claimed.
