Residents of Sicheko village in Busia County are in fear after the body of a teacher reported missing yesterday, was discovered in the compound of a neighbour today, May 22, 2021.
The family revealed that the body of the late Cyprian Onyango was found a few metres from his home with a wound on his neck and head.
Residents fear that the teacher was murdered by unknown people using a crude weapon and later dragged to the compound where he was found.
The deceased's family has appealed to the police to probe the incident, noting that Onyango lived in harmony with his neighbours.
His body was taken to the Busia Referral Hospital morgue pending a postmortem.
A resident who spoke to the media, expressed the shock among villagers, alleging that the deceased might have been hit at the back of the head using a hammer.
Busia town chief Stephen Osige assured residents that police will investigate the matter and bring the perpetrators to justice.
