Kenya Power has announced planned power shutdowns that will affect customers in six counties on Monday, August 31.

In a notice on Sunday, August 30, the company said the scheduled interruptions will affect parts of Nairobi, West Pokot, Trans Nzoia, Nyeri, Taita Taveta and Vihiga counties.

In Nairobi, the planned power interruption will affect Jakaya Kikwete Road and surrounding areas from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. 

The affected areas include Jakaya Kikwete Road, part of Valley Road, Integrity Center, Heron Court Hotel, Slovakia Embassy, and Comfort Hotel.

Better Living Hospital, Middle East Bank, Tourism Fund Plaza and adjacent customers will also be affected.

In West Pokot County, customers in Murpus and Plelekhan will experience a power interruption from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The shutdown will affect Murpus, Plelekhan, Seretow and adjacent customers.

In Trans Nzoia County, the planned outage will run from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM in Natwana and Mbururu. 

The affected areas are Natwana, Kona Mbaya, Mbururu, Mabusi Scheme, Luanda, Nyortis, Nzoia Market and adjacent customers.

In Nyeri County, power will be interrupted in Kiamuiru and Githiru from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. 

The areas listed for the shutdown include Ngibuini, Mugwathi Motel, Kiamuiru Catholic and Primary School, Satima Millers, and Kiamuiru Safaricom Booster.

Others are Kiamuiri SDA, Gwa Kigera, Kwa Roda, Kiamuiru Sawmills, Vegpro Factory, Githiru C/Fact Schools and Market, parts of Thunguma and adjacent customers.

In Taita Taveta County, customers in Sagala will experience a shorter interruption scheduled from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. 

The outage will affect the whole of Sagala, Kanyanga, Motherland, Dambi and adjacent customers.

In Vihiga County, the planned power shutdown will affect Mudete and surrounding areas from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The affected areas include Lososi, Mudete, Lusengeli, Kaimosi Sawmill, Evojo and adjacent customers.
