Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions in six counties on Tuesday, September 1.
In a notice Monday, August 31, the company said the outages will affect selected areas in Nairobi, Trans Nzoia, Meru, Nyeri, Kwale and Mombasa counties.
In Nairobi County, power will be interrupted from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. in parts of Ngong Road and Kibera, including Mitoni Road, Lenana School, Bee Keeping, The Booth Girls School, Racecourse, Wambiri Road, Mama Wahu Road, Santack Estate, Suna Estate and Amani Estate.
Other affected areas include BE Energy Dagoretti Corner, Show Ground, Ayany Kibera, KCB and Co-op Banks Ayany, Equity Bank Dagoretti Corner, Co-op Bank, part of Talanta Stadium, Polo Club, Rowland Camp, Ngando, NCC Askari Houses, Gikuyu Close, Professional Centre and adjacent customers.
In Kayole, the interruption will affect parts of Quarry, Komarock Phase 1, Mbuyu Court, Acacia Court, Mihango, Spring Valley, parts of Kayole, Kayole Junction, Kayole Total Petrol Station, Kayole 1 Market and Kayole Police Station.

The outage will also affect Matopeni, Mihango Bus Stage, Kayole Posta, Jawaka Travelers Bar, Kayole Nyaura Bus Stage, Three in One Supermarket, Kayole Tushauriane and adjacent customers.

In Trans Nzoia County, the planned outage will run from 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. and will affect Mwisho Farm, Kapkai and adjacent customers.
In Meru County, power interruptions are scheduled from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. in Mitunguu Market and Tulivu Gardens, affecting Maraa, Kithakanaro, Kithatu, Ithitwe, Mamauru, Mitunguu Market, Mitunguu Technical, Materi Girls, Kamujwa and Gakurungu Market.
The affected areas will also include Gacigongoni, Tunyai Market, Remuki, Nkui Market, Karimaiga, Ngonga, Mpindi, Kauthene, Manthi, Kaurone, Matagatani, Kamariru, Kamwanki and adjacent customers.
In Nyeri County, the outage will run from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. and will affect Ruarai Coffee Factory and Karinidi Market, including Kiirungi Primary School, Karindi Market, Nyakahuho Dispensary, Gachika Market, Gikondi Village and adjacent customers.
KPLC will also interrupt power in Kinyaiti Market and Kinyaiti Primary, affecting Kinyaiti Secondary School, Sikai Sana, Kinyaiti Borehole, Kinyaiti Dam, Hill Side, Kabati, Kinyaiti PCEA and adjacent customers.
In Kwale County, the planned interruption will run from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. and will affect Diani, Beach Road, Tiwi and Kwale areas.
The affected locations include Darling, Chepe, Naivas, ABSA, Leisure, Diani Beach Hospital, Diani Reef, Jacaranda, Tiwi Beach, Amani Tiwi, Tiwani, Kombani, Matuga, Ngombeni, Coast Calcium, Kwale, Tiribe, Kinango and Ndavaya, together with adjacent customers.
In Mombasa County, the outage will also run from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. and will affect parts of Shanzu and Kero Port.
The affected areas include China Bridge, Pundamillia, Shanzu Water, Shanzu Shopping Centre, Shimo la Tewa Borstal, Shimo la Tewa Staff Quarters, Shimo la Tewa Medium Security Prison, Utange Village, Kero Port, Zimlat, Maweni and Coast General Hospital Majaoni.
Other affected locations in Mombasa are Kwa Karisa Maitha Shopping Centre, Majaoni Primary, Kwa Bonge, Leads School and adjacent customers.
