Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions affecting parts of eight counties on Wednesday, September 2.
In a notice on Tuesday, September 1, the company said the outages will affect selected areas in Nairobi, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Homa Bay, Murang’a, Nyeri, Tharaka Nithi and Taita Taveta counties.
In Nairobi County, interruptions will affect parts of Ngong Road and Kibera, including Mitoni Road, Lenana School, Bee Keeping, The Booth Girls School, Racecourse, Wambiri Road, Mama Wahu Road, Santack Estate, Suna Estate, Amani Estate, BE Energy Dagoretti Corner, Show Ground, Ayany Kibera and surrounding areas.
Other affected facilities include KCB and Co-op Banks Ayany, Equity Bank Dagoretti Corner, Co-op Bank, part of Talanta Stadium, Polo Club, Rowland Camp, Ngando, NCC Askari Houses, Gikuyu Close, Professional Centre and adjacent customers.
In another Nairobi interruption, power will be unavailable in Kayole and surrounding areas, including parts of Quarry, Komarock Phase 1, Mbuyu Court, Acacia Court, Mihango, Spring Valley, parts of Kayole, Kayole Junction, Kayole Total Petrol Station, and Kayole 1 Market.

Kayole Police Station, Matopeni, Mihango Bus Stage, Kayole Posta, Jawaka Travelers Bar, Kayole Nyaura Bus Stage, Three in One Supermarket and Kayole Tushauriane will also be affected.

In Uasin Gishu County, the outage will affect Mugundoi, Chemenei and Ngeria areas, including Chepkigen, Mugundoi Centre, AIC Kosgei Secondary School, Chepkigen and Nigeria, together with adjacent customers.
In Nandi County, areas listed for the interruption include Ol Essos and Himaki, covering part of Ol'essos Technical, Emrok Tea, Himaki and Chepkunyuk, as well as adjacent customers.
In Homa Bay County, the interruption will affect Mbita and Rusinga, including Kaugege Centre, the whole of Mbita Town and Rusinga Island, together with adjacent customers.
In Murang'a County, power interruptions will affect Kiruri, Ichichi, Gathaithi and Mununga, including Karurumo and adjacent customers.
In Nyeri County, the affected area is Gathugu Market and its surroundings, including Kagumo-Ini Coffee, Kiamabara Dispensary, Gathugu Market, Gathugu Coffee Factory, Iharu, Gaiti, Mt. Carmel Secondary School, Kagumo-Ini Water Pump, Gathagana, Safaricom boosters and Airtel boosters, alongside adjacent customers.
In Tharaka Nithi County, the outage will affect Muthambi and surrounding areas, including Marima Primary School, Ntatu, Rwanderi Coffee Factory, Muthambi Secondary School, Rurea Village, and Kangehnia Primary School.
Karigini Secondary School and Market, Bishop Ezekiel Primary School, Kaijambaki Primary School, Mumbuni Secondary School, St. Bornventure Secondary School and Ntakani Market will also be affected.
In Taita Taveta County, interruptions will affect the whole of Bura Mission and Kombolio areas, including Barawa, Mlughi, Kombolio, Ngami, Mnamu and Tungulu, as well as adjacent customers.
