President William Ruto will on Thursday, September 3, undertake a working tour of Kajiado County, where he is scheduled to inspect and commission various government projects in Kajiado Central and Kajiado South constituencies. 

The official programme shows that the tour will cover Rombo, Loitoktok, Kimana, Namanga and Kajiado Town, with a focus on roads, markets, irrigation, electricity, affordable housing, students’ hostels, bridges and police housing.

In Rombo, Kajiado South, Ruto is scheduled to inspect the Rombo-Taveta Road before visiting the Rombo Modern Market. He will also tour the Rombo Irrigation Project. 

He will then proceed to Loitoktok, where he is expected to inspect the Affordable Housing Project and KMTC Students’ Hostels. 

Ruto will also inspect the Sultan Hamud-Loitoktok Electricity Project.

In Kimana, Kajiado South, his programme includes an inspection of the Kimana Modern Market.

The tour will later move to Namanga in Kajiado Central, where Ruto is scheduled to visit the Namanga Modern Market and inspect the Namanga-Isinya Electricity Project.

He will also inspect Maparasha Bridge and Lesonkoyo Bridge in the Namanga area.

The final leg of the tour will be in Kajiado Town, where Ruto is scheduled to inspect Affordable Housing Phase 1.

He will also visit the Kajiado Town Students’ Hostels, inspect Kajiado Town Police Housing Units and tour the Kajiado Modern Market.

Elsewhere, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has tasked Cleophas Malala and John Methu with leading the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) engagements while he is away.

In a statement on Sunday, August 30, Gachagua said the two leaders will continue listening to Kenyans and speaking on their behalf.

"While away engaging Kenyans in the United States of America, I have tasked my team led by my Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala and DCP PARTY Secretary General Designate Senator John Methu to continue listening to the people and speaking for them," he stated. 

Gachagua is currently on a tour to the United States, where he is scheduled to engage the Kenyan community living in America. 

Addressing the media before his departure, he said he would take a ten-day break to rest before beginning his engagements in the US. 

"I’m taking a 10-day rest because I have been working very hard without taking time to rest. I want to use the break to re-energize and spend some quality time with my wife. I have not had an opportunity to spend some quality time with her," he stated.

Gachagua also revealed that he would use the US tour to make political decisions ahead of the 2027 General Election without external influence. 

"I have a reason why I will be travelling for an extended period. When I am here, there are decisions that I cannot make due to external influence. Therefore, I want to make decisions without undue influence," he added.

During the tour, Gachagua is scheduled to hold engagements with Kenyans living in Washington, Dallas, Kansas, Oregon and Boston.
