Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has claimed that a driver working for the People’s Renaissance Movement (PM) Party was arrested in Embu County.
In a statement on Sunday, September 6, Amisi alleged that the driver was moved around Embu in unmarked vehicles while the PM truck he was driving was confiscated.
The Saboti lawmaker noted that the driver was released on Sunday at 5 AM, making it impossible to carry out the publicity he was scheduled to do in Tharaka Nithi ahead of the PM Party rally.
“The driver of a truck belonging to PM Party was arrested, moved around in unmarked cars within Embu, and the truck confiscated.
“He has just been released now at 5 am, too late to do the publicity it was meant to do yesterday within Tharaka Nithi,” Amisi claimed.

Amisi condemned the arrest of the driver, describing the incident as misuse of state power to target political opponents.
“This misuse of power in countering political opponents has an end, and it is 2027,” the Saboti MP added.
This comes weeks after Amisi launched the PM Party.
Speaking during the launch on Tuesday, August 11, Amisi said the new party would focus on advancing economic liberation, economic renaissance and justice for Kenyans.
He also noted that the party will position itself to form government in the 2027 General Election.
“We, the people of Kenya, hereby launch the People’s Renaissance Movement to deliver the country economic liberation, economic renaissance, economic justice and to form a government of the people, by the people, for the people,” Amisi said.
The Saboti Member of Parliament also called on Kenyans to rise up and champion the cause of economic liberation.
Amisi said it is the responsibility of the current generation of Kenyans to fight for the fourth liberation.
“This fourth liberation is a duty of our generation. The past three generations rose up and did what needed to be done.
"We are now being called as a generation to rise up with enthusiasm, charisma, courage and patriotism to do what needs to be done today. What needs to be done is economic renaissance,” he added.
