KMTC Announces 89 Job Vacancies; How to Apply

The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has announced 89 job vacancies across various departments and campuses.

According to a notice issued on Tuesday, September 8, the vacancies cover positions ranging from Senior Lecturer and Lecturer II to roles in information technology, finance, human resources, library services, supply chain management, administration, security, driving and office support.

The KMTC Board of Directors said it is seeking to recruit competent, result-oriented, knowledgeable, dynamic, visionary and experienced persons to fill the positions.

"The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Board of Directors seeks to recruit competent, result-oriented, knowledgeable, dynamic, visionary and experienced persons to fill the following vacant positions tenable at the Kenya Medical Training College, Headquarters and its Campuses," the statement read.

The available positions include five Senior Lecturer, Pharmacy positions; eight Lecturer II, Mortuary Science positions; and one Assistant Director, Information Communication Technology position.

KMTC is also recruiting five Accountant II/Finance Officer II positions, five Human Resource Management Officer II positions, five Library Assistant III positions, five Supply Chain Management Assistant III positions, five Assistant Office Administrator III positions and five Information Communication Technology Assistant III positions.

The institution has further advertised 10 Clerical Officer II positions, 10 Security Warden III positions, five Artisan III positions, 10 Driver III positions and 10 Office Assistant III positions.

Successful candidates will be required to provide several clearance documents before they are issued with offer letters. 

These include certificates of clearance from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Credit Reference Bureau (CRB), as well as a valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

Applicants whose qualifications and competencies match the advertised requirements have been directed to submit their applications online through the KMTC recruitment portal.

"Applicants whose background and competencies match the above specifications are invited to make their applications online through the College website http://recruit.kmtc.ac.ke/jobs," the statement added.

KMTC has cautioned applicants to provide all the information requested in the advertisement and warned that including incorrect information in an application is an offence. 

Applicants have also been advised not to list academic or professional certificates that they had not obtained by the closing date.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to present the originals of their National Identity Cards, academic and professional certificates, as well as transcripts during interviews.

KMTC has also warned that presenting fake certificates or other fraudulent documents is a criminal offence.

The deadline for submitting applications is Wednesday, September 30.

This comes days after Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) announced 40 job vacancies as it seeks to strengthen its workforce across academic and administrative departments.

According to a notice on Tuesday, September 1, the vacancies comprise 27 academic positions and 13 administration positions.

Among the academic positions advertised are five Senior Lecturer positions in Medical Laboratory Science, Special Needs Education, Criminology and Security Studies, Sanitation and Waste Management, and Law. 

The university is also seeking lecturers in several disciplines, including Criminology and Security Studies, Foundations of Education, Music, Islamic Religious Education, Home Science, Law and Medical Laboratory Science.

MUST has further advertised five Lecturer positions in Clinical Medicine, as well as Tutorial Fellow positions in Medical Laboratory Science, Health Records and Information Management, Special Needs Education, Criminology and Security Studies, Sanitation and Waste Management, Public Health and Law. 

One Graduate Assistant position in Law is also available.

On the administrative side, the university is recruiting four Clinical Instructors in Clinical Medicine, two Technologist III positions in Public Health, four Technician III positions in Medical Laboratory Science and three Technician III positions in Information Communication Technology.

MUST has directed interested candidates to visit its website for detailed information on the job descriptions and requirements for each position.

Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22.
