Bomet University and Taita Taveta University have announced a combined 57 job vacancies, offering opportunities across academic, administrative, technical, research, security and support positions.
The vacancies are open to suitably qualified candidates, with both institutions setting September 28 as the application deadline.
Taita Taveta University has advertised 26 positions across its schools and administration directorate, while Bomet University has announced 31 vacancies covering academic and administrative positions.
At Taita Taveta University, the vacancies include positions in the School of Agriculture, Earth and Environmental Sciences, School of Science and Informatics, School of Education, School of Mines and Engineering, School of Business, Economics and Social Sciences, and the Directorate of Administration, Planning and Development.
The academic positions include Professor in Agriculture, Ecology, Environmental Sciences and Natural Resource Management; Senior Lecturer in Zoology/Animal Science; and Technologist III in Agriculture.

The School of Science and Informatics is seeking Associate Professors and Senior Lecturers in Computer Science and Cyber Security.
The School of Education has vacancies for Associate Professors in Educational Administration and Educational Psychology, a Lecturer in Educational Psychology and three Tutorial Fellows in Comparative and International Education, Philosophy of Education and Educational Psychology.
The School of Mines and Engineering is recruiting Senior Lecturers/Lecturers in Civil Engineering, with specialisations in Transportation Engineering, Public Health Engineering and Structural Engineering.
Vacancies are also available in Mechanical Engineering in Thermo-Fluids Engineering, Design and Manufacturing Engineering, and Materials and Micro-Nano Engineering, as well as Petroleum Engineering.
Other Taita Taveta University vacancies include Senior Lecturer/Lecturer positions in Public Administration and Policy, Maritime and Shipping Management, and Tourism Development and Management.
The university is also recruiting three Administrative Assistant II officers.

Taita Taveta University said most of the positions will be offered on permanent and pensionable terms, while Tutorial Fellows will serve on a three-year contract renewable once, subject to performance and progress towards attaining a PhD.

Bomet University, meanwhile, has advertised eight academic positions, including Senior Lecturer in ICT and Lecturer positions in Agricultural Extension and Education, Philosophy of Education, GIS and Remote Sensing, Kiswahili, Accounting, Communication and Economics.
The university has also announced 23 administrative vacancies, including Deputy Registrar positions in Academics and Administration, Senior Internal Auditor, Internal Auditor I, Assistant Registrar (HR), Assistant Internal Auditor I, Senior Administrative Assistant and Senior Security Officer.
Other administrative opportunities at Bomet University include Computer Technologist, five Administrative Assistants, two Research Assistants, Library Assistant, Security Supervisor, Clerical Officer, two Driver positions and two Office Assistants.
Bomet University requires applicants to submit a detailed Curriculum Vitae, certified copies of relevant academic and professional certificates, identification documents, testimonials, contact details and other supporting documents.
Applicants are also required to provide the names and contact details of three referees, with confidential reports expected by September 28, 2026.

Bomet University said all the advertised positions are on permanent and pensionable terms, subject to successful completion of a six-month probation period.
The institution also warned applicants against fraudsters, stating that it does not charge any fee for job applications, shortlisting, interviews or appointments.
Applicants with foreign-earned qualifications are required to have their certificates certified by the Commission for University Education (CUE), while only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
