Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) has issued a notice to first-year students on additional programmes available for intra-school and inter-school transfers.
In a notice on Wednesday, September 9, the university listed 47 degree programmes across various fields, including engineering, agriculture, health sciences, information technology, business, architecture and environmental studies, among others.
The programmes available for transfer are BSc Aquaculture Technology, BSc Energy and Environmental Technology, BSc Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, BSc Chemical Engineering, BSc Animal Health Production and Processing, BSc Land Resource Planning and Management, BSc Marine Engineering, BSc Nautical Science, BSc Mining and Mineral Processing Engineering, BSc Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, Bachelor of Construction Management, Bachelor of Quantity Surveying, Bachelor of Real Estate, Bachelor of Architecture, and Bachelor of Landscape Architecture.
Other programmes include BSc Electrical and Electronics Engineering, BSc Telecommunication and Information Engineering, BSc Electrical and Computer Engineering, BSc Medical Laboratory Science, BSc Applied Bioengineering, BSc Occupational Therapy, BSc Renewable Energy & Environmental Physics, BSc Physiotherapy, BSc Nutraceutical Science and Technology, BSc Biotechnology, BSc Applied Biology, BSc Zoology, BSc Genomic Science, BSc Crop Protection, BSc Information Technology, BSc Business Computing, BSc Geomatic Engineering and Geospatial Information Systems (GEGIS), and BSc Geospatial Information Science (GIS).

Elsewhere, the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) has invited applications from ongoing university students seeking practical work experience through a three-month student attachment programme.
In a notice on Tuesday, September 8, the authority said the programme is scheduled to run from October to December 2026.
The programme offers opportunities across various functional areas, including human resources and administration, corporate communications, finance and accounts, supply chain management, telecommunications, information technology, cybersecurity, legal services, consumer protection and research, among others.
"The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) invites applications from ongoing students for October to December 2026, a three-month (3) attachment opportunity," the notice read.
The authority is seeking students whose areas of study align with the departments where they wish to undertake their attachment.
Eligible disciplines include Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Management Studies, Mass Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Media Studies, Communication Studies, Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Radio Frequency Engineering and Information and Communication Technology.
Other eligible areas include Telecommunications and Communications Engineering, Business Law, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Law, Consumer Protection, Public Policy, Sociology, Marketing, Education, Community Development, Development Studies, Project Management, Statistics, Research Methodology, Quality Management, Business Studies, Regulatory Affairs and Legal Studies.
To qualify, applicants must be ongoing students at a recognised university and their area of study must correspond with the department they are applying to.
They are also expected to demonstrate a keen interest in gaining practical experience in a dynamic regulatory environment in their applications.
Interested students are required to apply online and submit a one-page CV, a copy of their National ID, a cover letter specifying the department of interest and a letter from their institution confirming their current enrolment and support for the attachment.
Applications must be submitted by September 18, 2026, at 5.00 p.m. The authority said only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.
