In a statement on Thursday, September 10, TSC flagged the circular as fake and misleading.
“The Teachers Service Commission has come to the attention of the above circulating circular on deployment of teachers.
“Please note that the information is not only misleading but fake,” read the statement in part.
The commission urged teachers and members of the public to disregard the fake circular.

TSC also urged the public to rely only on communication shared through the commission’s official social media channels.
“We urge the public to disregard the circular and to always rely on our official communication channels (TSC KENYA on Facebook and @TSC_KE on X) for accurate information,” TSC added.
The clarification comes a week after TSC announced 1,631 promotional vacancies for serving teachers.
In a notice on Tuesday, September 1, the commission invited qualified teachers to apply for the vacancies.
“The Commission invites applications from suitably qualified serving teachers to fill the following promotional vacancies in accordance with the Career Progression Guidelines for Teachers,” the notice read.
The promotional vacancies include: Deputy Principal III - Regular (132), Senior Master II (29) and Deputy Headteacher II - Regular (1470).
According to TSC, successful teachers will be posted to institutions where vacancies exist.
“Successful candidates will be posted to institutions where vacancies exist,” TSC stated.
Interested candidates are required to submit their applications through the online TSC portal at www.teachersonline.go.ke.
The deadline for submitting the applications is on Monday, September 14, 2026, at midnight.
The commission emphasized that only applications submitted online will be considered.
“Only applications submitted through the online portal will be considered. Manual applications will not be accepted,” TSC added.
